I was here for a Sunday lunch with family, we had a booking but was not so busy that you need one (careful, this day may have been a particularly quiet one!). We were taken straight to our table by the waiter and immediately handed the menus and wine list.
Service; The waiters here are extremely competent, ours knew exactly what every menu item was, how it is prepared, how they taste and where ingredients come from. Food arrives promptly and the waiter delivering it explained what it was before leaving.
Food; absolutely fantastic. We had the $88pp banquet which is quite enough food, but we also ordered some duck pancakes due to my personal craving for them (they will change your life. duck pancakes are a necessity!). The sweet-chilli prawns, salt and pepper calamari (the crispiest I have ever had, very very nice) and ginger, garlic and coriander steamed fish were favourites. The Dim Sum dish was also extremely memorable.
Value; probably appropriate for such a great quality restaurant but it is on the expensive side. My only issue with this was the price of those duck pancakes (16 for $88), which is absurd compared to the entire banquet for the same price. Considering the service and quality of food though, I'd say the value is worth it.
Atmosphere; no, there's not a scenic view but in my experience of dining in Sydney with view, the food there is underwhelming. Mr Wong's has a beautiful interior from the roof to the table legs. I find "attention to detail" is a phrase thrown about by a lot of over enthusiastic HR departments but it is perfectly apt here. Every aspect is deliberate and beautiful.
Families with Children; This is an adult dining experience. Unless the kids have a diverse palette and will appreciate the food, I would say there's better places to go. There isn't really the room for them to leave the table and play, as they have a habit of doing.
