“Great location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

This hotel is definately quirky but in a really nice and charming way. Rooms are beautifully appointed (I'm sure we had an upgrade as we were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary)and the extra little things like an actual coffee machine is a really nice touch. The location is great for Darling Harbour, Shopping in the city and the Sydney Tower. So much choice right on your doorstep. Great hotel for a romantic weekend away. Staff are very welcoming.

We were really looking forward to staying here.
Staff very friendly but room was dusty and needed a real clean.
No porter service was difficult when ladies travelling alone.
The newspaper we ordered never came as there was "a shortage' that morning-not sure how they decided who got a paper and who did not.
No room service between7am and 11am was disappointing and the room service menu very poor.
Vanity packs for the ladies and one bottle complimentary water should be included .

Had a short (but oh so sweet) stay at the QT Sydney just recently. I loved it as soon as I walked in! So well designed. An eclectic mix of styles that all gel perfectly together to give off a funky, relaxed, chic, sophisticated and luxe vibe (yes - it is possible)!!!! We had a junior suite on the 8th floor with a lovely view over the Queen Victoria Building. A very tasteful room with the same quirky little touches spread throughout the lobby and shared areas. The old Gowings building is certainly a beautiful old site and the renovation has been done in such a way to preserve the old (and the sense of history that comes with this) and blend it with the new. Super comfy bed. A nice quiet room (only heard the odd door or two during the night) and fabulous blackout curtains. If I had to find something to complain about - it would be the black benchtops in the bathroom and the odd showerhead. The black benchtops would drive me to complete and utter distraction if they were in my home (they show every little mark, including water), however, it was a brief stay and I didn't have to clean it up!!!! The shower had a rain shower and a normal shower head which seemed to have two options only - an extreme shoot out throwing water on the ceiling, the wall behind you and in your face, or a slow trickle that resulted in the shower head sliding out of it's hinge..... Once again - no biggie, rain shower worked a treat. Loved the guest bar. Did go in the restaurant one evening - but literally could not hear myself think so retreated somewhere a little more quiet. Spa was brilliant. Another lovely space and another demonstration of the thought and sensitivity that has gone into this renovation. The caviar facial was amazing! I only wished I had more time to try more treatments!!!! Location wise - fabulous! It is a shopping-lovers' dream!!!!! Topshop, Westfield, Myer, David Jones - not to mention all the wonderful high end boutiques at your doorstep. Train station (St James) a short walk away. Plentiful cabs too. Would I stay here again - hell yes! I can't wait for my next trip to Sydney just to have a chance to get back to the QT!

Over the past 12 months we have stayed here 6 or 7 times and have never been disappointed. We normally stay two nights so we can play visitor in our hometown of Sydney. What we love is the quirkiness of the place from the rooms to the lobby and then the cafe downstairs and last but not least the fabulous Gowings Grill and Bar. Service amazing.
The location is perfect right in the heart of the city and the staff are tops so switched on. We are so impressed we are back this month and again in December.

This hotel is in a great location for shoppers and even for none-traditional business travelers. The room was nicely done the complimentary internet was fast.

There are a few problems with the hotel
1) the house keeping did not wash the glasses after they clean the room
2) You need to carry the luggages up the stair to an elevator (but this is not a major issue as the hotel staffs are willing to help)
3) I booked the room with one queen bed, which by the look that is what I got but when I slept on the be it was two beds putting together to form one bed so in the middle of the big bed there is an edges that poke you in the back when you sleep. This would be acceptable had they provide a sufficient padding if any. Many hotels solved this problem by putting a padding onto of the two mattresses to cover the edges of the beds.
4) The light switches need a little trail and error to figure out as lighting zoning in the room is a little confusing.

If you ask me will I stay in this hotel again??? I would say yes, because overall this is a good hotel in a good location with good service but just need some micro manage. oh and another thing… it will depend on the price as well.

Remember when going to stay in a hotel was an exciting prospect, then you slipped into a period of........... just another place. Well after many years of travelling, staying at the QT has bought back the charm of staying in a hotel in a BIG way. The place is quirky, funky, cool and hip, the underlying current is that the staff are fresh, friendly and actually do treat you as a guest. The 10.30 am check in was easy, pre paid via internet and left our bags to return later.
That afternoon, keys were ready, bag was in the room and our request for high floor with a view was forthcoming, Great start.
Coffee machine was a nice touch, real comfy bed, quirky little furnishings, (the 20 kg wooden stool was possibly a toe stubber in the night) and spotlessly clean.
The sliding mirrored windows seperating the living area and bathroom were a good idea, however the ability for a clear line of sight through the glass display section to the toilet was a little off-putting. The bathroom was a little underdone as far as lighting went, the blind had to be down so as not to let in the man in the office next door and the shower worked very well except for an excess of water spraying over the drain.
Great decor all round, positive mood from staff, well priced breakfast choices and accommodating when asked for a meal variation......... come and stay here to rekindle your flagging hotel spirits

Room Tip: Market St frontage or corner room

I stayed here in Sep 2013 for 5 nights and everything was more than I expected from this hotel.

It is definitely quirky and so different from your other standardised hotels such a the Hilton as an example.

The decor was absolutely gorgeous!

The room service menu was delicious.

The staff at the door are so welcoming as well with full of character!

Definitely recommend this place!
