“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

Overnight weekend stay, speedy check-in and upgraded from Classic to Luxury Room, this room was really faultless, spotlessly clean & everything worked, and the bed was pure heaven. Seriously if you just need a good sleep this was one of the most awesome hotel beds ever. All staff interactions were pleasant and professional. Did not use Food & Bev, which are definitely higher on the price side, but this is a 5 Star hotel. The Sofitel is so close to Circular Quay and the Opera House, the area is quiet at night, but easily accessible to other parts of Sydney. No faults here, I loved it and would stay again.

Attended a conference at this large city hotel recently. The conference experience was made very comfortable by the high standard of facilities offered by this hotel. Comfortable seating, bottles water both still and sparkling plenty of notepaper & pens, clean ans spacious restrooms, very professional and pleasant staff.

I was placed in a very small room that was still well furnished and reasonably laid out wtih an acceptably sized bathroom. It was perfect for one and would have been acceptable for two. The bathroom was nicely appointed but did have some spots that were not clean enough - a little mould in the corner of the shower, which you don't expect at the Sofitel but other than that it was great. The service was outstanding, from bag assistance to room service. I ordered room service, was told that it would be with me in 25 minutes and it was perfectly timed. Gorgeous lobby with beautiful decorations and scents, plenty of room to meet for business or a pre-dinner drink. Breakfast in the Garden Court was excellent, one of the best I've seen. I would absolutely return.

Arrived at approx 1430hrs on Sunday, lovely hotel, very friendly staff, welcome drink was a nice touch, however the 2H wait to check in put a little dampener on the experience. All was sorted after numerous enquires as to when we could check in.... we were upgraded to a suite.... lovely! Restuarant was really great, again, exceptional service and good food. Our room was very well set out and overlooked the atrium. Overall a lovely hotel, just needs some work with check in, we were not the only family waiting to check in for 2 hours. Having said that, we will still stay again.

Wonderful stay at a very nice hotel after seeing a play. We had a meal at the hotel restaurant and also a breakfast in the morning before leaving. At the breakfast we were asked three times if we were who we said we were, as they had us down as already paid and left the hotel earlier that morning. We had to, each time, verify our identities. Very uncomfortable and disconcerting that supposedly someone else had checked out in our name. Not a good effort by the hotel computer system.

We checked in for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon and were upgraded to a suite which was very much appreciated. All saff were courteous and polite, especially Nigel who looked after us on arrival after our long flight. The hotel was well located and easy to access all main attractions. The decor in the hotel left a lot to be desired and could do with being updated. Try out Celestial Chinese in Bligh street behind the hotel, the food was amazing! All in all we enjoyed our stay.
