“Worst Hotel Ever; do not stay!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

My partner and I had visited this place and were kept awake by an abundance of cockroaches coming into our room from underneath our door. The whole night I was calling every hotel around the precinct to get another room, but there was no luck.

The next day, the hotel didn't want to refund me until I told them my sister works for the health department. From being rude and abrasive, the staff then became quite apologetic and commissioned a complete refund.

I like to consider myself as an optimistic and "glass half full" kind of guy, but there was nothing positive about this room. Subsequent to the dirt, grime, smell, skittle wrappers behind the bed and cockroaches, not to mention the attitude of the staff, this hotel should receive a -5 star rating and be closed by the health department. Please do not stay here!!!

It's not a clean place with no service at all. The desk Clark is like an invisible man even when he was actual sitting at his desk. Don't ask questions or have requests! The place could really need a renovation and some more working lightbulbs, some fresh chairs too!
The only good thing about this hotel: it was in great restaurant area!

We've visited this hotel four times over the last ten years, and it's steady decline has now bottomed out as a filthy, smelly, carelessly managed hole.

We paid £100 a night for a room that smelled of sick, with disgusting carpets, tatty and dirty furniture, and were charged an extra $10 a day for internet that barely worked.

Avoid.

We stayed to be close to a venue we were going to an event at. After leaving we realised we'd left an expensive pair of shoes (yet yo be worn) and two other clothing items. I called and was told staff would have thrown it away believing it to be rubbish. I said they would have known it not to be rubbish then he changed his story to say nothing was found! I asked him to check with his staff and he said he had already, how could that be the case when he hadn't even gotten off the phone with me? He laughed and told me to ring the police. Disgusting, rude and dodgy service!!

Agree with all reviewers, very filthy, dirty hotel, plus i found cockroaches in the bathroom,
Toilet itself is broken, there was very dirty small towel in a bathroom too.
It's located on a very noisy street, with a lot of bars and sex shops.
Furniture is awful, old and filthy. This hotel ruined the last 2 days in Australia. I would never suggest it to anyone.

This hotel is old but our large room was comfortable. The reception staff only work during the day and evening. The desk is unmanned during the night till about 9 or 10 am. While they advised me we could leave our luggage in the secure luggage storage if we arrived early till our room was available, what they didn't tell us is that there is no one working on reception if you arrive before 9am. We arrived at 8.30 and had to drag our luggage to a coffee shop while we waited for them to arrive.
There were 5 booked to stay in our room but we had to ask for the correct number of towels, cups and glasses. The digital TV was a bit of a problem. We had to get the reception staff to get it going and we couldn't get any of the channels when we returned to our room later that night. The water pressure is pretty bad but the bathroom is big with a large bath.
The front rooms are not at all soundproof. We experienced a bit of noise on Friday night but Saturday night was incredibly noisy. We were a little unhappy that they didn't let us know the noise levels would be so high. They said we should have asked for a room at the back of the hotel when we checked but, as we were visitors to Sydney, how is it possible to know just how noisy a place can be. So be warned!!!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter.
