“Superb hotel in a stunning location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

This is truly a unique hotel. From the heritage pier that it is housed to the brilliant restaurants below. I loved this place. We went as a family and without notice a lovely little pack arrived for my daughter containing a plush koala and other items. The staff were superb and I've heard they have just sold the place. I hope the new owners keep all the staff as they really make one feel at home.

Rooms are well fitted out and spacious - ours was on 2 levels with living area and bathroom on one level and bedroom on upper level. Bathroom was clean, there were lots of useful toiletries and the bed was comfortable. There were many thoughtful touches to the room overall. Service was good.

Immediate impressions at the entrance and lobby are wow, hip and cool. The room was a bit pokey, but the view was excellent, facing the water, city and botanical gardens. The interior of the hotel was dark and cold, so it was outside meetings for me, at Otto's on the wharf.

Have stayed here twice now this year - obviously haven't tired of it. Great for strolling thru botanic gardens to opera house and within striking distance of nice nosheries in Potts Point (with stairs to negotiate that remind one of Paris). Breakfast pretty standard i.e. can be tarted up a bit. Decor in room adopts usual Taj style but layout of the entire old wharf building quite superbly done. City views not the main attraction given the lack of height but overall location a huge plus: not too near yet not too far.

This hotel is gorgeous. It has beautiful touches in the rooms and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Brilliant location - close to the city as well as to the SCG and Allianz stadium, art gallery, restaurants etc. The rooms are surprisingly quiet given that they look onto a busy road. I adore this hotel and will return as often as possible.

We've returned to Blue Hotel many times (I think 5 times) and enjoy staying in the 'luxury marina view loft suites' which are spacious and comfortable at 58 square metres. The suites offer picturesque views over the marina, Royal Botanical Gardens and the city, oh and have super comfortable king size beds. The hotel decor is chic and funky and is a clever blend of the old and new. The friendliness of the staff make this a great 'home away from home' stay and the close proximity to the city is perfect for city meetings- it's an easy 15 minute stroll through the gardens to work. Not to forget the plethora of quality restaurants on offer underneath the complex (our fave is China Doll). The hotel is a great base to exercise from- the track from the hotel along the edge of the botanical gardens which overlooks the harbour through to the Opera House is a must - it's stunning! We also enjoy the funky 'Waterbar' located in the central atrium for an aperitif or after dinner drink.

This hotel is very well located to be outside the bustle of the business district, but within easy walking distance through the Botanical gardens to the Opera House and waterfront. A historic warehouse, which has been sympathetically converted, leaving the interior spacious, makes for a wonderful atmosphere and you can step right out onto the wharf outside. There are many excellent restaurants just around the corner on the board walk.
Our room was on two floors, really nice.
My only complaint would be the lack of wifi - one was forced to hover in reception to get a very slow broadband connection - or pay vast rates for a room socket. Very poor for a 5 star hotel.

Room Tip: Overlook the wharf if you can Demand better wi-fi!!
