“Location location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Great hotel in an ideal location for business and tourists. A stunning use of an old dockside structure.Excellent modern rooms overlooking the water. Lots of dinning options in the building . The only downside is the expense ($50) and inconvenience of car valet only parking.

“A very upsetting mess”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

I arrive in a loft marina view room.the windows are so low you can only see out when you sit!!!
The bathroom has one tiny sink, too small to place your toiletries, and if you aretwo people you have to wait in line because too small for two!!. How weird and user unfriendly.
Then the so called great water bar. I leave downtown early after a caipirinha to have drinks at my own hotel.
At 21.34 the bartender informs he can not make a cocktail as they are closing!! In sydney!! In the bar of a 5 star ( is it?) hotel!!! He even suggests i might sit inthe lobby as they will turn of the lights at ten sharp!!! Why doesnt he just kick me out! Is this hospitality. ? Is this a Taj hotel???
No...
After much insistence he says they can serve me a wine or quick beer. Needless to say after a caipirinha that doesnt work.
All in all a very unpleasant experience. I strongly recommend against this inhospitable hotel! Not worthy of the Taj name!
Having said that the concierge men and the coffee lady at breakfast were very friendly as was a man at reception.
Just poor management choices and tryingto make a buck outof tiny rooms!
Not good.

Room Tip: Ohw ans the beds are old beds withthe springs sticking through, not cool for a five star ( taj) hote...

“Good location, practical, business hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Stayed for 2 nights on a leisure trip, would not stay here again on leisure as it was a bit lacking in vibe and luxury but good as a business hotel which to be fair is what it is marketed as. Felt a bit soulless (despite being in an historic building), like an upmarket Travelodge (UK chain)

“Great Hotel with excellent interior and service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Really enjoyed are stop here with 1st class service. The rooms are very nice but think they are in need of a revamp and update. Not exactly what I would class 5 Star compared to other hotels available in the price bracket, but you can see what quality the furnishings and interiors once had. The room was large and the view was great. I will defiantly come back here as it was clean, modern, comfortable with excellent customer service and impressive lobby/seating area but only at a reduced rate!

“Beware of the hotel reservation system!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

I was charged $330 USD for one night's stay in December 2012 without realizing that I had made a reservation. I entered all my information into the Taj online reservation system to book a room at Blue for two nights but the website indicated that the hotel was sold out for the second night. (I had to stop and start the reservation process more than once because the system froze.) I checked back a couple of times over the course of the next few weeks but the hotel was still sold out for the second night of my requested stay. So, I booked another hotel. I learned about my supposed "no show" after receiving two requests to complete an online satisfaction survey about my recent stay at Blue. Of course, I never actually stayed at the hotel. Since I had received neither a confirming E-mail initially from the hotel about the reservation nor any sort of reminder E-mail in advance of my stay, I assumed this was all a big mistake. So, I contacted the hotel by telephone and by E-mail to request a credit refund. The hotel was unable to provide any documentation with respect to an E-mail confirming my reservation. They had no explanation for why I had been contacted more than once to complete the satisfaction survey. They refused to acknowledge that there could have been some sort of glitch in their reservation process. I am an experienced international traveler and I have never had anything like this happen previously. But I have never tried to book a Taj Hotel room online and I would certainly never risk doing so again.
