“A very pleasant walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

Take the ferry to Manly. Enjoy the harbour, the opera house and the nice views. Arrived in Manley, follow ' Scenic Walk ' and enjoy the walk and the scenery. Before you leave, take a drink nearby the ferry...... enjoy ! !

“Be rewarded with breath taking views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

This walk has two routes - Manly to Spit Bridge (10km) and Manly to North Head (9.5km). We walked the former route by starting at Spit Bridge and ending at Manly Wharf.

The trail itself is well marked and easy to follow - not easy to get lost unless you try really hard. You will also find that this trail is able to cater to various needs for different people - the tourists (like us), health freaks (runners, joggers, walkers etc), families & friends (catch up sessions), pet owners with their pet dogs* and even couples on dates! Having said this, it is not suitable for families with young children or strollers. You will be walking on wooden platforms, sand paths, gravel paths, steps cut out of stones, the beach, pavement and even lanes through the houses in the suburbs.

*some routes are off limits to dogs. Alternative routes are available.

There at least 20 points of interest. The main attraction however would be the breath taking views you will be rewarded with.

We also found out that Manly is home to the endangered Little Penguins and it is the only mainland breeding colony in New South Wales. You will see cute little "Watch Out Penguins About" signs printed on the pathway.

Some tips if you are planning to do this:

- wear walking/sport shoes or comfortable footwear
- bring ample of water (recommended 1 liter per person)
- bring along light snacks
- carry along a raincoat/poncho. Umbrella might not be suitable at certain areas.
- don't forget your camera.

Getting there and back: We took the bus to Spit Bridge and the ferry back to Circular Quay.

“its ok - all done in an hour!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Its just a pleasant area to walk along for an hour or so - more akin to a Mediterranean town, but lots of tourist shops with t shirts etc!

“a nice ferry ride”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

but not expectacular as when you visit Darling bay in the ferry. we took it one afternoon and came back in the same ferry boat. you get to see a bit of the coast line and the sizes of sydney harbour. it is very large. the ferry ride takes a Little over 30 minutes each way.
