Loved my stay at The Grace Hotel. Wonderful 30's art deco building with an interesting history and restoration that's brought the facilities bang up to date. The hotel has an excellent location at the intersection of two main city streets. Everything is easily walkable from the hotel and accessing public transport is also easy as the monorail is on the next block, and the main Town Hall station is only a couple blocks away. Staying at The Grace, you are only a block from the wonderful Queen Victoria Buildings, central Westfield Shopping Mall, Darling Harbour etc. The room was very comfortable and I'm pleased I was up on the ninth floor as I can imagine on the lower floors there could be some street noise in this central city location, especially as this historic building has only single glazing windows. Used the gym, cafe and irish pub / restaurant on my visit, all very good. Especially like the fact that, as well as great Guinness at the pub, the staff were mostly irish as well! A great atmosphere. The gym equipment was perfect for my requirements with a selection of machines, treadmill, cross-trainer etc. There is a small swimming pool, but its quite limited. For swimming, I suggest going to the excellent pools by Cook+Phillip Aquatic Centre (adjacent to St Marys Cathedral) or Andrew Charlton Pool on The Domain. Also I used the breakfast buffet restaurant one morning, however that for me was the one let-down at The Grace as the setting was completely at odds with my expectations. Let me explain....the breakfast buffet is held in what is basically a Chinese / Malaysian restaurant, so you are surrounded by flashing yellow and green lights and the strong scent of stale fried rice! Don't let that put you off The Grace though, as it would be top of my list when returning to Sydney based on my wonderful stay there this month.

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Grace Hotel, Sydney and taking the time to write your review on Tripadvisor.
The Grace Hotel is very fortunate to be situated in such a prime location. It is excellent to read you have had a pleasant stay with us and enjoyed most of our facilities in the hotel including PJ O'briens the Irish Pub and the Fitness Centre.
From your description of our Grace Brasserie, you have stayed with us during our Flavours of Malaysia (Malaysian Food Festival) in the spirit of Crave Festival; Australia's biggest food festival. We have decorated the Grace Brasserie to resemble a Malaysian Restaurant and this Festival has finished on 21st October. We are very sorry that the decor seemed a bit odd at the time when you had breakfast in the Grace Brasserie.
Once again, thank you for your positive feedback and we do look forward to welcoming you back at the Grace Hotel, Sydney.
