“Pretty Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Would certainly stay here again. A superb central location for family and being right next to the monorail station makes it easy to get around with kids that don't want to walk far. Like a lot of hotels they want you to pay AUD$22 per day for internet and pay AUD$16 for low resolution movies, which I think is a rip off on both counts. The bathroom had bad mold, so could have been cleaner. Overall the rooms were pretty comfortable with the standard accoutrements. Friendly and professional staff.

Room Tip: Good family suite options.

We stayed here for Father's Day,concierge and check in were great,We were upgraded to the Bellerive suite,This room is by far the best room at rydges,it is more like a one bed apt with a courtyard on level 21,This hotel used to have an executive club, with free drinks and canapes and an more than adequate breakfast, also a business centre with complmentary internet, was one of the better ones in sydney,This was also complimentary with any of the upgraded rooms,We tried the meditterranean night in at the sphere restaurant not a bad price for what it is buffet style, and the square bar was great, rydges beds very comfortable, check out was good,a nice place to stay in sydney, good central location.

We have just returned from a night at Rydges World Square. We have been regular guests for a number of years to this hotel and always find the service and accommodation 5 star. A special thank you to Sophie Campbell for organising our stay. We enjoyed an amazing Seafood Buffet and a very comfortable night in a spotlessly clean room. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out the experience was outstanding. Well Done to the entire team we will continue to stay At Rydges World Square when we are in Sydney.

The room and bedding was excellent as was the front desk service and porterage however the Saturday night fillet steak was the worst and toughest steak Ive tasted in years, left me with diverticulitis and the rest of the week in hospital. Please choose tender steaks next time chef :(

Room Tip: Upper floors are quieter

We again chose to stay at Rydges World Square as it is so convenient to Pitt St shopping & Darling Harbour. We walked in off the street & secured a room for later that day, the staff member rang me on my mobile when the room was ready as requested, big tick.

Our previous stay was a low floor room which was extremely noisy on a Friday night from the bar below the World Square (not associated with Rydges). This time our room was only on the 2nd floor with a little balcony but no noise what so ever? It was a Saturday so maybe Friday drinks after work was the problem last visit.

The room was spacious enough, clean, had all the usual inclusions a separate bath & a King Coil King size bed mmmmm. Did not eat or order room service from the hotel.

When we drove the car to the hotel entrance there was a spot to pull into & concierge was standing by ready to take my car. Great improvement on our last visit.

Very pleased with our stay & will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Low floors are smoking rooms some with balconies

Had requested for a slightly earlier check in due to certain circumstances. Got in just before 1 pm and was told they could not check if the room was available because the computer system was down. Can't think of a lamer reason than this. If the computer is not working, they should have asked a staff member to check if the room was ready. How difficult can it be to ride an elevator upstairs to do a physical check?

I do apologise that we could not accommodate your early check in request but we cannot guarantee check in before 2pm. In saying this the reception staff should have explained this to you, so I apologise for any inconvenience this would have caused.

We chose the late check-in, arriving Sydney airport early evening. We just had one evening and following 1/2 day to see Downtown Sydney and some sights. Hotel location helped make this possible as 5 min from Theater station on taking train from airport. Had terrific meal in nearby Chinatown and browsed area. Next morning walked to Darling Harbor. Near hotel is the free visitor 555 shuttle stop up to Sydney harbor and Opera house. Also walked the Royal Botanical garden grounds. All great sights and worth the effort. At noon caught train back to airport. Sydney worth taking more time but if tight schedule, this hotel is perfectly located and a great value for downtown Sydney.

Room Tip: Late Check- in is great value. Had an interior complex corner room with small balcony and much ligh...
