“Carol & Malcolm's retirement trip.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

An organised walk through the opera house during the daytime was very interesting and the guide gave us the colourful history of the build that took place with all it's ups and downs. It's one of the must do events during your stay, with plenty of photo opportunities outside. We also made the time to walk around the opera house and harbour in the evening with all the lights it was fantastic.

“The Most Exciting Building in the World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

The excellence of the architecture is matched only by the stunning quality of performances, inside. A unique and very special experience. Try the Guided tours, before a memorable concert or show...

“loved the kitchen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

We didn't go into the opera house as nothing showing at the time was that interesting to us. However, we went to the opera kitchen and watched the fireworks there. It was fantastic, a little disorganized, but a perfect location.

“PLEASANT SURPRISE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Just for the experience, we made reservations for the two nights we would be in Sydney. It turned out we actually enjoyed both performances. We saw the ballet simply because that was available, not because we're interested in ballet. It turned out to be a genuine pleasure. It was a collection of all the iconic performances of the year. We sat in the balcony, which we realized was the best place for viewing ballet - the whole pattern was obvious in a way it would not have been on the main floor.

The play, "A School for Wives" was presented in another venue at the opera house. Very comfortable, and a fun play.

An extra gift was the availability of free Wi-Fi -- a special treat for us travelers.
