“20% off if you use voucher”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Great museum with the details of history and culture of Sydney. I love to know the history of a city when I visit it as a tourist. Try to get a 20% discount voucher from the official traveller's companion to Sydney booklet. Free wifi available.

“Australia's origins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

A great insight into the first fleet and its participants. Also a very interesting display on the internment of German nationals and how they coped in their camps.

“Fair enough!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Probably appeals more to the Sydney-sider than to the visitor; often they have special exhibitions that show a slice of Sydney's history/culture. General admission a bit pricey.

“historical fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

My daughter and I love getting lost in here, always something new to learn and explore. Has quite a cool little cafe and not too busy normally.

“A Little Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

This museum had some interesting exhibits about the ships which brought the convicts to Sydney and about the ancestors of convicts. It also has short documentaries about constructing the bridge and the harbor.

It does not compare with other city museums in that there was very little to introduce visitors to what has been happening in Sydney through the years. Nothing about buildings, infastructure, clothing, entertainment, transportation, etc. We expected more.
