“Remarkable Day Out”

What can you say about this museum except what a fabulous time my family had scouring every section of this marvellous museum. So much to see and learn about. Wonderful.

“OK for a quick brekkie!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

We wanted a cheap, quick breakfast and the MOS Cafe fitted the bill. Poached eggs on sourdough with butter on the side ($10) were excellent, but unfortunately the coffee let them down – really bitter – and a little expensive at $5.20 for a large flat white and $4.30 for a standard flat white.

“Museum par excellence.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

The displays are incredibly designed. The lighting and layout is impeccable and I particularly loved the superb stainless drawers in stainless chests housing tiny 'pioneer day' finds.
Being able to see the Tank Stream remains under glass under the floor is fantastic. I thought the entire experience a knockout.

“Small, with some nice Aussie history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

The Museum of Sydney was quite small, and as its title suggests, it is limited to Sydney. Information on the first fleet, local Aborigines and the World Wars seem to make up most of the displays. There are some nice little displays, and a trip through the museum will fill up an hour or so. I would say the museum is a must for overseas visitors who want to learn about the area – for Australian’s a lot of the information should have been covered at school. Worth a look.
