“Good Location for business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2010

I was on a business trip and this place found by using the internet. pros: it was near my business meetings and I had a nice view of the water. cons: the noise factor and also my colleague I was traveling with did not get a view of the water. When booking a room, ask about the view and the noise. Maybe they can give you a better room. The staff was mostly great, except for one person and I think she was a temp.

We stayed at the York apartments for a month, due to a family emergency. The apartments are located in a good position for the Circular Quay and Opera house, and a short walk to the shopping centre on George street. There is a Woolworths food shop close by for self catering needs.
Our apartment was on the top floor and was outstanding, good views and well furnished.
The trip proved somewhat stressful due to our family emergency, however we cannot praise the staff highly enough, nothing was too much trouble for them, in particular Brian, Abbie, and Stela, they made a huge difference to us in difficult times, thank you!
I would have no hesitation in recommending this place. If you were to visit in the warmer months, there is a small pool, and a small gym. There is also a restaurant, though we never used it, as we prefered to cater for ourselves. They are making some renovations but nothing disturbed us during the stay.

When we stayed there, unfortunately there were renovations being carried out in the building, so during the day it was unbearably noisy downstairs. We could still faintly hear it from our room on the 11th floor.

The staff was nice enough; polite and professional although a little aloof.

The hotel is within walking distance to shops and the Circular Quay, but it's on a rather quiet street in the CBD. I went back at midnight one night and I was the only person walking on the dark, lonely street.

The room itself is alright, furniture is rather outdated in style, but well taken care of and everything is clean.

I wouldn't mind staying here again if the other hotels closer to the city centre were not available.

Stayed 17-19 March and was sad to leave. Location is excellent, great views and double glazing windows and doors made it quiet. Friendly, capable staff and pleasant rooms with all facilities required.

We booked a superior one bedroom apartment and were delighted with both the room and the service. When we arrived after our 26 hour flights, staff offered us towels, shampoo etc to enable us to freshen up and use the pool/ spa facilities. (We had not previously discussed early access to our room).
Apartment was VERY spacious and well-equipped . (Room 1604)
Location was very convenient for Circular Quay, The Rocks, Harbour Bridge etc
Not cheap, but good value for money.
Would definitely stay there again.

Smack where we think you ought to be,10 mins from the rocks and circular quay,20 mins from cockle wharf/darling harbour.
Nice spacious apartments but they do suffer from the traffic noise so if youre a light sleeper...
Also as it's right in the business area you may get stressed dodging the suit's going to work etc......can be quite busy at street level mon-fri
If I was coming here again think I would stop at manly

Really enjoyed our stay and forund the hotel in a great location for all the sites. the room was really spacious and comfortable although air conditioners were a bit noisy. Staff were friendly but could have been a bit more knowlegable at time. Pool great for the kids and a respite from sight seeing. Altogether a great location, great sized rooms for a family with the added bonus of a pool. On the expensive side but you get what you pay for
