“Great hotel, one of the best I've been to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2010

I stayed here for 5 nights and had an incredible stay. The hotel itself is in a great location. About a 10 minute or 15 minute walk from the Opera house. The rooms are fantastic. Very clean, awesome bathroom design with a huge tub that, alas, I did not use.

There are about 6-7 restaurants in the lower floor and I went to the steakhouse and the sushi place. Both were great. The steakplace fired up one of the best steaks I've had in a while and the sushi place was quick but very good.

The gym is nice. Perhaps getting a bit dated but nice. It is not owned by Westin as far as I can tell but Westin guests seem to get free use.

Overall, I hope I have a chance to return.

Beautiful room, very comfy bed with Bose alarm clock, lovely bathroom - really big with separate shower, nice big bath and separate toliet (all within the bathroom), good TV, easy internet access, nice bars and restaurants in the building itself so no need to leave. Only downfall was that my room faced an internal walkway so no ability to open the blinds for natural-ish light, but it was only for 2 days so no great fuss.

As a global business traveller, this rates as one of the best hotels that I have stayed at in recent years. Booked with my SPG points and then paid for an upgrade a Luxury Room on floor 28, I was in Sydney over a weekend to meet up with friends. It's a top-end Westin/Starwood Group property - room is modern, very spacious, very large bathroom with cascade ceiling shower and jacuzzi bath, two double beds and widesceen LCD TV. The staff service was impeccable - bags from concierge, printing of a Qantas boarding pass that was brought to the room, laundry, housekeeping. At the weekend the hotel area is quiet. It's a 10-minute walk down to Circular Quay. I would strongly recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travellers. I will definitely be back when I travel with my family to Australia next year. Thank you Westin Sydney for an excellent stay.

I am a long time Starwood member. I was disappointed when I entered my room and I found a hair (the private kind) ironed into the sheet which was clearly obvious as I stood talking on the second telephone (by the bed) as the first telephone (on the desk) did not work. At $270.00 room p/n I certainly didn't expect this! The only compensation I received was a bowl of fruit and a different room (no upgrade). The hotel was prepared to do nothing more for me I even spoke to the manager (just by chance whilst I was waiting in the lobby) and he did not offer anything... no apology, no nothing, he was aware of the problem and said they had sorted it out! My advice go elsewhere... oh I remember the good ol' days of the Ritz Carlton in the city... those were the days!

This is a beautiful hotel in the center of the Central Business District of Sydney. It is close enough to walk to the Quay and to shopping. There are restaurants galore and just a beautiful vibe of the city. This is a hotel geared for those on business but our family on vacation thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A grocery is around the block for the snacks and drinks you may want to have in the room.

The Westin Sydney is a beautiful hotel located directly in the center of Sydney's business district and a close walk to all tourist attractions. The lobby of the hotel is formed out of an old post office with lots of charm. The location right on Martin Place, a pedestrian only street, which adds calm to this centrally located city hotel. We booked the hotel for leisure and were a bit concerned that the hotel would be too business oriented for our pleasure trip. Although the Westin certainly has a business feel to it, the hotel is very central and perfect for a Sydney tourist. Just a short walk to the Rocks, the Opera House, the Botanic Gardens, Darling Harbour, etc. (between 10-15 minutes to each).

As Starwood Platinum members we enjoyed a host of benefits--including a delicious breakfast, happy hour, snacks (coffee/tee/hot chocolate, cookies, fruit) and free internet. The staff members are very responsive and incredibly pleasant. The rooms themselves are of the usual modern, Westin Standard--very clean, rather spacious, and very comfortable.

The Sydney Westin is a great place to stay!
