“Outstanding hotel!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Absolutely wonderful hotel! Great service, great room, great views, great everything! I stayed in one of the Executive Suites on the 25th floor and it was amazing! Wide sweeping views of the Sydney CBD from the lounge room and bedroom. The bathroom has a wonderful view as well from the bathtub. Note: it is worth taking a long relaxing bath just to be able to stare out the floor-to-ceiling windows next to the bathtub.

This particular room has a walk-in closet, two toilets, a large shower, large bathtub, queen size bed, and plenty of room the relax in the lounge room. If you can manage to get yourself upgraded to the executive level it is worth it! It is also worth paying a little extra for the room if you cant get upgraded.

Stayed as a family on vacation - using SPG points! Expected first class facilities and wasn't let down.

Room was 2 double beds and just managed to fit us and the kids in. Room was very nice though, and the higher up you go the better the views over the city (in the tower). Bathroom was excellent and the bath big and luxurious. We used the pool - which was a mini-adventure to find. Very small but did the job.

On arrival we didn't get the most friendly reception - obviously turning up in jeans and jumpers is not what the doormen expect! Reception was a little better, but clearly they would prefer well-heeled business people.

Lots of restaurants available - but we didn't try any of them given that we were a family of 4 on a budget. Hotel very good though.

This iconic hotel in Sydney's CBD is tastefully integrated into what was originally Sydney's historic GPO (General Post Office) Building. It is well located, modern, clean and friendly.
On the lower ground floor, there is an extensive range of bars, cafes and their signature restaurant.
The rooms are modern with an understated elegance. The bathrooms are large and well lit, with a separate bath and shower. Water pressure in the shower was exceptional.
At corporate discount rates, this hotwel is reasonably price. But would be a very expensive option for a non-business traveller paying regular (rack) rates.

If you are into exercising every day this is a independent and professionally run gym with all the facilities one would expect located in the complex. As a Westin guest you are entitled to use the facility.
Other than that the room was quiet, big, the bed huge and comfortable, and all the amenities great. If anything perhaps a little tired of need of some refurbishment. Great location.

booked the room with two beds for two kids and wife. bad idea...two rooms would have been much better....which we typically do...or an apartment ...but rooms are so expensive in Sydney that we gave it a try...totally bad idea...beds are much , much smaller then similar rooms in states ...room was large and comfortable but beds are small ...one person only...what I did not like is that you had to pay 90/night for roll-in bed...just way expensive ...overall Sydney is super expensive city...anyway, I would recommend apartment vs room if more then two people...but hotel is 1st class along with great service.

Room Tip: great location ...don't book this place if you travel with kids...

Not a typical Westin experience. We checked in around 11:00PM. The room next to us had music playing so loudly we heard it in the hall. We complained and it was taken care of with little hassle and no apology to us other than to ask us if we wanted to change rooms - yes please, punish us for being so unlucky as to have a room next to someone so inconsiderate. The next night we went to the lobby bar for a drink. Don't expect much!!! The scotch pour was the smallest pour I have every seen!! They charge you $18 for a liquid that barely covered the bottom of the glass. Things have been expensive in Australia in general but to be so frugal with the pour is just unacceptable. The maid service was sub standard - dirty glasses not removed from the room, etc. Just not a great stay for what I expect with the hotel chain in general.

Undbeatable location in CBD with the property combing a great blend of old and new. The room on the 16th floor had a great view and feel. What was found lacking was the level of service and some basic amenities like shoe shine mitt and slippers. The tap in the wash basin kept falling off - but was attended to immediately when pointed out and had to ask for refill of tea/ coffee sachets as it had not been replensihed on day 2. Breakfast was adequate but had to struggle to get the attention in terms of getting service for tea or coffee. self serivice would really help specially when one is short of time. The differene between good and great is attention to details..

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors provide a great view
