“Nice Business Hotel”

I recently experienced a two-night stay at the Westin Sydney for leisure with a friend of mine. we booked a deluxe double room which included two very comfortable double beds. I felt that the price we paid did not reflect the room we stayed in. I have stayed at the Westin before and have experienced a much nicer room. This room was a little dated and boring. I would say the feature of the Westin rooms are the beautiful big bathrooms which open into the rooms. This room had a smaller bathroom tucked away which isn't a problem at all. It just bought the room down a bit. But that is nothing really to complain about. What i will mention is that the fire alarms have a green flashing light which flicks. This was a problem because it was positioned over my bed. Add to this a weird noise going on behind the wall and it didn't create a great sleeping environment. also the air con didn't really work so it was an extra hot room.

I would also like to mention the pool area. This is advertised in the lift as part of the Westin. If this pool is actually under the management of the hotel, then they need to do something pronto. Firstly it's a hike to get to, and a little difficult to find. This wouldn't be a problem if the pool was worth it but it is one of the most disappointing pools i have seen. It actually looks dirty and very unappealing.

This hotel is in a great location and the staff are great which makes all the difference. Breakfast is also super good but it is $42 if it isn't included in your rate! Overall I would say this hotel is more suited to the business traveller rather than the leisure types.

They put me on Level 1. It's 9:45pm and I can still hear the noise and cheers from the bar downstairs. One of the towels has a hole in it and the remote has food stains (how do I upload a photo?). I rang up Service Express to say the remote wasn't working well, they said they would send someone up right away, but after a 15+ minute wait they still hadn't come. On the other hand, I rang up for a toothbrush and shaving kit later and they delivered it within 5-10 minutes. The Heavenly Bath(SM) was pretty good and relaxing, although it is nothing more than a big, deep tub with a shiny tap. The ceilings are high but the room is quite small. The Bose stereo is pretty old and doesn't have a proper USB plug for an external device, just an analog auxiliary-in wire. I'm sitting in the leather armchair with my legs resting on the ottoman. It's a nice chair with beautiful, soft leather. THIS is pretty good. Looking forward to trying the bed tonight, if only the noise would subside.

It was exactly what you would expect from a Westin: courteous staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds. There were no special touches and everything (including in-room internet) is a la carte, but that's what you get at a chain business hotel. I would stay there again if I need to be in the CBD in Sydney.

I do not expect much on the service side in Australia as I have been pampered by Asian resorts.
This hotel is a business hotel.The feel is business like and brisk.Rooms are decent and clean.Service is ok.
I was appalled as we passed the cash of A$70 to the valet for the parking and valet and we were billed again for it when we were checking out.The concierge was not that helpful and gave a disgusted look when we refused to make another A$70 for 20 minutes of parking.
It is a hotel alright, it is decent however do not expect the finer touch of hospitality.
Location is good.

The Westin is a fine establishment and as such is well up to standard. I requested a high floor away from elevators which was in the "Tower" section. When I travel I want comfort and quiet therefore a room with a view is not important if I get one its a bonus. The room was extremely spacious and clean, bathroom was excellent. Bed was AAA+ comfortable. Room service was prompt and delicious, staff where friendly and courteous.

The location of the hotel boarding on Martin Place is excellent and within walking distance to Circular Quay and the harbour and many attractions, public transport is at the doorstep with shopping, restaurants all close by.

Great location on Martin Place, in the center of the CBD. It is a 15 minute walk to Harbor and Opera House, and the free CBD shuttle bus also runs near the hotel for easy access to Circular Quay, the QVB, Botanical Gardens, etc. The exterior of the hotel is gorgeous, and the interior lobby area has been really nicely done to incorporate the historic parts of the building with new modern elements. There are a variety of restaurants in the hotel building; we tried the conveyor-belt sushi, which was delicious, and the Spanish restaurant, which was so-so. Prices are high for food, but it’s nice to have the option when tired after a full day of site-seeing. Room itself was very nice, modern bathroom and Westin Heavenly Bed. We had a nice view of the clock tower. Overall, a good home base for exploring Sydney.

A little pricey for the room type that I had however a few really welcome things as a business traveller.. Excellent shower, and very comfy bed;) the building was well looked after and breakfast was lovely..
