“Ugh..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Let me start off by saying, staff were excellent and very very friendly and fab location but that's where it ends. We stayed on the 1st level, it's dirty, there is no other way of describing it. The whole place needs a coat of paint, dirty walls in the halls and rooms. Dust everywhere, spider webs and filth on the balcony, dirty windows, bathroom is awful with no ventilation. Kitchen needs an update, poor minibar selection and NO bathrobes/slippers. Seriously? You're a hotel, get your act together. You have wonderful staff but the whole place needs a face lift. It felt like a motel.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms above the first floor.

We had a harbourview studio room with balcony on 4th Floor. Room size was good with kitchenette & bathroom [shower over bath] & all clean. Bed was "firm". Bathroom could do with an update - tiles & shower screen looking a little tired. Towels provided for pool/spa. Fabulous location! So easy to get to Circular Quay, walk around The Rocks & Walsh Bay. The Rocks Markets almost on your doorstep. Staff friendly & helpful. Overall good value

Room Tip: If using parking station next door, check rates, as hotel charges a standard rate/24 hrs which may o...

Overall, fantastic value. One block from Circular Quay with a kitchenette. Price was under $200 a night including cooked breakfast (small dining room) and Internet. Great value for location in Sydney.

My daughter and I recently had the misfortune to spend 2 nights at this run down property. Entrance/reception area looks fine and staff were friendly and helpful but it ends there. The one bedroom apartment we stayed in needed an update and a coat or two of paint. The tiny bathroom was mouldy and dusty and toilet/basin/shower and their fittings were old and dated. Would have been bearable with a comfortable bed and good housekeeping, however the beds were like concrete with awful old worn mattresses and the place was generally filthy...dust caked curtains, tracks and vents, every surface covered with old cup rings and dried food stains, greasy carpet and disgustingly stained couches and chairs, and grubby kitchen equipment. The large black hair and food crumbs in the fridge/freezer were the icing on the cake. was offered a discount voucher for my return trip but would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere!

This hotel does not have the trimmings of a 5 star hotel (I would think a good 3.5). However, the location is excellent if you want an affordable night or weekend stay in Sydney with easy access to many tourist hot spots.

Stay on level 4 (or above) and you will have a good view of the harbour bridge and opera house.

The hotel has a pool and a spa which are both OK.

The big plus is the location and easy access to cafe's, pubs, resturants etc.

Room Tip: Stay on level 4 or above and ask for a harbour view.

This is a very tired property in serious need of upgrading. The staff were courteous (with the exception of the checkout girl who developed an attitude when I challenged an item on the bill, as it transpired I was correct on the matter but no apology was forthcoming, training opportunity perhaps...) The breakfast was good and the breakfast environs pleasant.

The room was poor. The bed was not particularly comfortable. The fittings were tired and I would guess a genuine renovation hasn't happened for well over a decade. The room size was good.

Great Hotel, Fantastic Location and Very Friendly and Helpful Staff. Breakfast was great, I could not fault this hotel. Walking distance to many of Sydney's treasures, Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Botanical Gardens etc. I most certainly will stay there again.
