“Look out for specials”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here with 8 friends, we got our rooms cheap on a special they had. Rooms are great but not as big as I thought. Bed is comfy, bathroom good size. Only mishap was housekeeping knocking on my door once, coming in my room with not enough time for me to say "I'm asleep, come back later" had underwear on so she got a good view, not what I was hoping for

Stayed here recently and we would have to say it was one of the best places to stay in Sydney, especially if you want value for money.

It's in a great spot on the water, and a lovely stroll to all the major sights. If you're planning on doing the bridge walk you couldn't get closer! But it is so easy, you won't get lost, there are lots of water taxi's around, tours and you're steps from 'The Rocks' area of Sydney. There was a charming little market there on Sunday.

The rooms are clean and fresh AND they have a pillow menu!!! We were so happy to be able to get a good latex pillow! The beds are comfortable, shower is fine but the toilet was very loud, like an airplane toilet. We could hear it next door!

Breakfast was simple but okay.

I would highly recommend staying here.

A great place to eat, and a short stroll away is a little place called Pony. Delicious, the risotto was perfection.

Cheers!

Room Tip: Room 17 was a good one

Loved the location of this hotel...it could not have been more beautiful. Right on the water, the hotel opens to the pier meals and drinks. Breakfast is excellent, and a lovely way to start the day with a view of the harbor a few steps away. View of the Harbor Bridge right outside our room window. We could even see the climbers easily. Just a few short steps to the most amazing view of the Opera House. Lovely park across the street. Bus stop for the Hop on Hop Off tour bus/other buses. Circular Quay and the Rocks a short walk. The room was light, airy, clean, and very nicely done in a nautical/pier style. The staff was wonderful. The only drawback was the wifi was ridiculous. The person I was with had to do some work on his laptop, and it was VERY frustrating trying to stay on the internet....overall, can't imagine a better location.

I booked two nights on a deal ....and then extended by 1 day at check in...... and got 'stiffed' on the room rate because I didn't double check the extortionate rackrate she charged! The room was slightly bigger than the bed......and they were repainting all the doors and fitments in the corridor opposite. Lobby area ok, breakfast area is basic. Location is good and an easy walk either way to The Rocks or Darling Harbour. The bar area and lobby look directly onto the water......nice.
My regret was all about the ridiculous cost of that last night! Next time .....the Shangri La.

Beautiful rooms which may have been recently refurbished - walking distance to the rocks. The hotel is beautiful and the staff very attentive. It's more high end than we would usually stay at but we got a great deal. Request the room with the balcony if you can stretch to it.
