We are Sydneysiders and chose The Langham for a 5 day escape recently.
We decided against some of the corporate and tourist hotels, and chose the Langham for its charm and quiet location. Millers Point is a quiet part of the city, despite being only 5 minutes walk to either Walsh Bay (our favourite) or the Rocks. Circular Quay and the QVB are about a 10 minute walk - really handy.
As well as the classic charm of the building, we appreciated the courteous service from staff - recently we stayed at another well-known Sydney hotel for a shorter escape and staff watched us wheel in our cases but didn't interrupt their obviously private conversation.. not so at the Langham.
As well as the location and superior service, other features we liked were the larger than average room sizes, pool and fitness centre and the Gallileo Restaurant.
Next time we kick back to enjoy our wonderful city we will definitely choose the Langham.. It really is that good.
