Lovely hotel on the doorstep of Circular Quay and the Rocks. We stayed the night while in transit from Perth on our way to the US. The hotel was able to accommodate the extra few hours we needed before check out to catch our early evening flight. We had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant and breakfast the next day was as good as any I've experienced. Top marks to the chef for the beautifully poached eggs. We were lucky enough to arrive during the time of the Sydney Light Festival and really enjoyed wandering around Circular Quay in the evening to watch the spectacular show and soak up the great atmosphere of the occasion. Plenty of waterside eating and bars in Circular Quay.
We found the staff at the Sir Stamford excellent and the level of cleanliness and standard of the rooms to be very good. The hotel is old worldly in décor and style which suits the area its located in and is boutique is size, which is nice for those who prefer a more intimate experience to the big international hotels on offer. It is well located to the main attractions and transport in Sydney and is a short distance from airports. Personally, I prefer it's location to some I have previously stayed in around the Darling Harbour area. We look forward to returning and plan a New Years stay in this hotel in the future to experience the fireworks and spend a bit more time in one of our favourite cities.
