“Perfect place for the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

My husband and I have been to Sydney a number of times and stayed in various areas of the city. The Sherston on the Park for the visit ths year was perfect. We upgraded to the club lounge that is worth the money if you are around early evening for snacks and drinks and breakfast and free wifi, we were not and should not have spent the extra $100 per person per night. Having arrived late at night, 11.00pm, we arranged the upgrade and on checking out realised that we had been charged for the first night when we arrived obviously unable to use the facilities. On check out this issue had to be referred to the manager! Other than that the hotel provides great service and the swimming pool and spa is quite wonderful to escape to. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: A high level room over looking the park provide great views.

We booked a city room for 3 nights. We really enjoyed our stay, except the hotel pool/spa was a bit of a let down - too small for the size of the hotel. Check in service wasn't fantastic, quite inpersonal and the lady who served us was argumentative. Really nice room, spacious, great bathroom - very luxurious. Has also the creature comforts you'd expect from a 5 star hotel - fluffy robes, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, mending and shoe shine kits. Not sure what was going on with the aircon - we woke up feeling really dehydrated and with clogged sinuses. Apart from the lady at check in, the service was pretty good. Good central location, close to Westfield. Our room rate included parking which was a really good feature. Would definitely stay there again. Oh, and a really comfy king bed with dreamy pillows.

Dear Sheraton on the Park,

As always entering the property is breathtaking, your taken back by the world class lobby entrance and the warm greeting by all the staff.
Our bags were stored while we waited for our room, perfect weather ensures a tour of the city passes the time quickly why our room is prepared. An early checkin and by request the same room was no issue and then a fast check to top off our arrival.

One staff who checked me in pasted me many times throughout my stay and remembered my name every time, i was actually quite impressed as he was very busy on most occasions and still caught me out the corner of my eye to say hello. ( i can't remember his mane as he was very quick on his feet and i never checked his badge anyway, sorry but very freindly and helpful. Aboriginal language badge)

I am a return guest of the hotel and have never experienced the roof top day spa, as soon as i walked into the empty pool and spa area i looked out over the most incredible view, Hyde park and a sight as far as the eye can see was enough for me to run back to the spa reception and call my travelling guest.
Tess ( spa staff ) was straight onto it calling the room for me to ensure my guest and i could watch the sunset over the city skyline.......Amazing.

We enjoyed our remaining days enjoys the cities iconic sites, The Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, The Opera House, Bondi, Manly, the Art Museum and Darling Harbour.
Upon check out we needed our boarding passes for a early online checkin but of course in my typical fashion i couldn't get the printer working in the hotel ( All me ).
The young guy working the porters desk was happy to get me online and have the passes printed within minutes, He also grabbed our luggage that had been stored due to our late flight and completed our departure as professional as our check in. ( once again i didn't check his badge however he was wearing a Swiss language badge)

Thanks to all the staff at the property and i will be sure to see you soon as i am a regular visitor to Sydney.

Warm regards
Andrew

We recently spent 2 nights in Sydney and after much debate, decided to stay at the Sheraton on the Park. What an excellent choice! Large, comfortable rooms, nice views, prime location, great price. Doesn't get better than that! Walked to the harbor and ferried to Manly, took a bus (the stop is across the street, essentially AT the hotel) to Bondi for bunch, and overall had a wonderful weekend. Would definitely go back for our next stay.

Seamless on arrival, its funny almost like you’re in you own space within the hotel & great service. Larger rooms than the Hilton easily fitted the rollway great shower. Upgraded to the terrace suite for the last night two TVs ensured happy evening, room service well worth the cost. The executive lounge was surpassed expectations in both food and service well done. Pity some of the customers in the morning were a bit shabby.

This is a great Sydney hotel. I've stayed in many Sydney hotels and this one is by far the most comfortable. Great bathrooms - nice and big, comfortable bed with great theming in the room. Room service was amazing and the staff were lovely.

We stayed here 13 nights...debating whether to stay at the Quay Grand Suites, The Westin or here. This was a good choice. All the comforts of a Hotel ...great staff (most of them)...good housekeeping (although for some reason they threw away some stuff we had kept on the table...we thought that there was an unwritten rule which said only the stuff in the waste bin and any obvious rubbish on the floor gets thrown away...we ended up losing a photograph in the bargain and realized it only when we got home)....excellent Business Lounge and restaurant staff...as well as excellent reception staff and 2 wonderful concierges..Christian and Sunny.

The propert is close to Darling harbor (5-10 mins walking)and is extremely close to the main shopping areas and surrounded by major malls as well as the monorail. They have a convenient back entrance/exit which saves you the long walkabout to reach the shopping areas. An excellent Chinese Restaurant is right across the street (The Chinese Palace Restaurant)..good food ..only the staff there seemed a bit uppity to us.One good thing ..they were open till 9 pm while the food courts seemed to shut very early around 6.30 and latest 7.00 pm.( the shops in the malls closed closed even earlier....I don't know if it was a Winter thing or that's the way they normally work....we were there in May/June this year).

The Hyde park is bang opposite and good for a stroll and a little further away are the Botanical Gardens which after a bit of a walk take you all the way to the Opera House (30 minute walk).

The Food quality was excellent and they had a great Buffet in the Botanica restaurant. Our only beef was that for some reason they didn't allow us to decide whether we'd like to eat breakfast in the Lounge or the Restaurant (unlike The Westin) , they insisted that we have it only in the Lounge and after a couple of days it got really boring in there.

They also gave us only two tiny bottles of water in the room...when we asked they said the Tap water was safe to drink and if we wished we could buy bottled water at one of the several 24 hour convenience stores. This despite being a SPG Gold member and also staying in a Club Suite.

Other facilities...a fairly good fitness center...small pool..good spa . Parking is I believe chargeable..though we didn't try it. Our room had a good view of the surrounding area...the Hyde park, the Cathedral and there was fairly good soundproofing so we didn't really hear much of the outside noise. however strangely enough the door had a largish gap at the bottom and as a result we could hear noise from the passage and I'm sure they could hear us outside..especially when we were yelling at our kids ;-) .

All in all ,a satisfactory experience and will certainly stay there again if I ever go back to Sydney.

Room Tip: Take a higher floor...ask for one facing the park .
