We stayed in this hotel over a weekend in August. Got a great rate on the internet and were pleasantly surprised at how nice and conveniently located this hotel was. We had a studio room with queen bed and fold-out sofa for our daughter. The kitchen was lovely and we made good use of the laundry facilities in the bathroom. The only problem we had was with the poorly-designed shower in the bathroom. The shower floor was pretty much flush with the bathroom floor and only separated by a thin metal door jamb. As you would expect, the floor was soaked after our showers!

Courteous and prompt staff. No problems. For longer stays the rooms are the best i've stayed in (and I travel 75%). Fully contained and full service units (1 bedroom unit with full kitchen, living room, bath room). Worth not collecting points from Marriott or Hilton just for the better room and central location - right beside Wynard station and in an area of town that is open late (not like most city fin districts).

Just thinking about my stay at this hotel still makes me feel tierd! This was our first hotel on a six week trip to OZ, and was by far the worst. The noise over a weekend is unbearable, the windows are not double glazed and it feels as if you are sleeping on the curbside. It was impossible to sleep, what with the cars tooting their horns all night, the bar/night club next to the hotel playing load music, the numerous load mouthed drunks on the street and continuous police sirens this was not a pleasant stay.

We did complain to the manager, who initially asked us what we expected if we chose to stay in the City Centre? I am a business traveller and I have stayed in numerous City Centre Hotels around the world. I have yet to come across one so badly sound proofed. Eventually we changed rooms, and although our new room was only 10" away from the brick wall of the neighbouring building, it was quieter. The curtains in the room did not block out light from the street or the cars.

On a positive note, the room was well equiped, clean and everthing worked. My only complaint was that the air conditioning was NOT lound enough to block out the noise!!

Be warned - do not stay here if you want to sleep. But if you want to party all night, shout, get drunk or cruise Bond Street tooting your car horn then this is the hotel for you.

We stayed here with our 2 year old last year. The apartment was booked for a month as it was a company relocation from overseas. The two bedroom apartment was not very big. The washing machine broke a couple of times. The dishwasher broke down constantly - the maintenance guys would say it was fixed when it wasn't. Management told us to leave the dirty dishes out and the housekeeping staff would wash up. However, they simply piled it all back into the dishwasher and left it dirty (this happened at least 3 times). Various complaints to the management over a number of days produced a bottle of wine as an apology. Housekeeping generally was slack and the room was apparently vacuumed only once in two weeks. Not the four and a half star hotel it claims to be. Beware - on weekends a lot of the rooms are booked out to groups of young people who are out drinking in the city. It is SOOOO noisy. There were parties in our corridor and people banging on the door in the middle of the night because they were too drunk to remember which room they were staying in. We lasted two weeks before moving out. The management refused to give the company a discount on the rates paid, despite our complaints. Definitely not recommended, particularly if you have kids and actually plan to use the kitchen/washing facilities.
