“A Busy Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

On a recent busy trip to see some sights and attend a couple of events, we enoyed a 2 night comfortable experience at the Radisson. Staff were very helpful and would go out of their way to assist us. Double Queen Room was pleasant and big enough to suit the 4 of us (2 Ad 2 Ch), beds very comfy after a couple of busy sightseeing days. Balcony was small but big enough to suit and watch the sun go down over Darling Harbour, in room breakfast was on time, affordable and delicious. Location is perfect for the city sights and transport, plenty of restaurants, bars etc close by you just have to make you mind up on which cuisine. Only gripe was the building site noise nearby but this was usually over by the afternoon.

A quality hotel with good facilities. Not in a particularly good area, close to China Town, but this is made up by it's close proximity to Sydney Harbour. Very comfortable room with ample mini-bar. Free use of computer in the business room.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights the beginning of February 2013. We arrived at 10:00 AM after two overnight fights and was so happy to hear that our room was ready for us - that's a BIG plus.

I was happy with the location, a few blocks from Chinatown, in a shopping area as opposed to the central business district. The location gave us more affordable options for meals. The room, one bedroom suite, had an odd layout. You opened the door and go down a hallway where you turn left for a coat room on your right. Continue down hallway and bathroom on your right. Then is the kitchen (refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, etc) and then it opens into the living room with furniture that by style appeared to be older and also very low. A nice flat screen tv on a chest of drawers and a desk finished off the room. Our small bedroom was off the living room. We had a small night stand next to the bed and that was as wide as it was. The bedroom opened onto a small balcony that had two chairs and a small round table. We overlooked a busy street but we were in the middle of a large city and that was to be expected particularly with a balcony. The rooms, although somewhat dated, was clean and worked for us.

The ladies working the front desk were extremely helpful in helping us plan our days, find transportation, reasonably priced restaurants and stores that we needed. They always greeted us by name particularly Anya. We didn't know that they had a business room till we asked and they do have two computers and a printer for our use. Nothing was ever said of a breakfast so we bought our own at a great store called Bread Top (great breakfast rolls and more) about two blocks away.

If you want to be by the harbor, this is not the hotel for you however, we enjoyed what this location had to offer us and the easy accessibility of going to the harbor (bus and the 555). We had a quick walk to the Harbourside Park, fountains, Aquarium, Darling Harbor, etc.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The front door of the Radisson is not the most obvious hotel entrance, but, once inside the staff are friendly, and could not be faulted for the full week of my stay. I landed at the hotel at 8.30am, and my room was ready, as requested - invaluable after a 24 hr flight!

The room was incredibly spacious, with large lounge area, separate bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, with plasma TVs in the lounge and bedroom. The kitchen came with fridge, microwave, kettle and Nespresso machine with free pods and tea bags. The view was the apartments opposite, but that's what you get in the city, although being close to the monorail (ie across the street) was noticable, particularly at night.

The gym and pool are very pleasant, the former open 24hr and the latter until late in the evening, which is a pleasant change. The restaurant/bar looked ok, but you'd be better served going outside to one of the many local hostelries or restaurants.

One word of caution - this isn't a hotel for the light sleeper! Liverpool Street can get busy with traffic as well as pedestrians, even late at night, and the previosuly mentioned monorail passes with a whoosh if you're on that side of the building.

But otherwise, a pleasant, good value, well located hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the Liverpool St side to avoid the monorail noise. The Business Class rooms ar...

Stayed over new year 2012 hotel well situated about 15 min walk to bridge and harbour. Plenty of shops around. Did not eat in hotel. We had a room for 4adults which was a ok size had tea coffee facilities etc lovely big bathroom. Not much of a view though. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Went to use the swimming pool but it was freezing so just sat in jacuzzi. Got free wifi . Excellent pub on corner called 3 monkeys and it was reasonably priced.

The location is great for most central Sydney attractions. The rooms are showing their age, but are functional and clean. The reason to stay here is the service. The staff are fantastic and friendly, helping in any way they can. They deserve medals

I had a conference at Darling Harbour and this was an easy and pleasant walk away - very convenient. The hotel lobby was nice - and throughout my stay the girls at the front desk were friendly and helpful. My room was good - large, comfortable and clean (though nothing special). Had a little kitchenette-type counter - I didn't investigate what was there in terms of supplies or utensils. The view was not good with the only benefit being that you could see what the weather was doing (looked out onto an unattractive and very poorly maintained inner courtyard, which I expect was maintained by the surrounding apartment block, not by the hotel. However, I found that may have been a blessing in disguise as a colleague of mine had a lower floor room facing the street, and she commented about street noise. Lots of restaurants around in every direction, and if you're a walker, you can walk anywhere in downtown Sydney from this locale. I never ate here, so I can't comment on that - but the menu looked good. (My colleague did eat dinner here one night and she enjoyed it.)
