“Fantastic Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Great location. Value for money. Booked a 1 bedroom suite for 3 people. Plenty of space with full kitchen and laundry. Has opening windows which was great for fresh air. Would recommend and would definitly stay again. Walking distance to Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay. A big thank you to Michael (Concierge) always willing to help and friendly. Made us feel right at home.

We stayed in a 2 bed harbour view. And the veiws were phenomenal!
The staff were great - special mention to camille who checked us in and gave recommendations on the city night life and answered any questions we had.
The room had everything we could need including iPod docks and enough glasses for us to have friends up for drinks.
Only think lacking was there was no balcony. But we went to the pool deck balcony anyway.
Very happy!

Stayed for 8 days in October and thought it may be a good alternative to a hotel like Shangri-la next door, I was wrong.

Front desk service was not good, room cleaning was minimal at best and a broken toilet upon arrival.

Positives, food was excellent, building maintenance staff was very professional. Perhaps they could also work at the front desk.

We recently spent 4 nights at the Quay West Suites in Sydney. The location of these apartments is great and within walking distance of many great attractions. We stayed here last year and were upgraded to a harbour view apartment - unfortunately this time that didn't occur, and once we got over the fact that we wouldn't have a spectacular view of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge (without paying an extra $250 per night - ouch), we settled into our apartment, which was more than comfortable. Our only issue was the air-con not working when we first got there (due to a tripped switch on the switch board). The pool area is great - which the kids loved. All staff were very helpful too.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the Darling Harbour side - it was noisier than the Circular Quay side. The room also he...

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and it was fantastic. It had everything including Kitchen and laundry plus stunning views and a great location. At night we left the curtains open just to look out onto the Harbour. It was quite big as well so we felt very comfortable.

We were almost speechless when we entered our suite (805), we thought at first that only being on the 8th floor we might not be able to see much, how very wrong we were.
On the left was the bridge and on the right the Opera House. The balcony was huge with a large table and chairs for alfresco dining.
We never ate in the hotel restaurant so can't comment. The living room was very large with a pull out bed for 2 people and the adjoining double bedroom, again with the same views and access onto the balcony, was equally of generous proportions. A well equipped kitchen, bathroom and a laundry room complete the accomodation. You buy wifi access using the television which will also show you how much you have used but it was difficult to connect in the room, the lift lobby seemed to have the best signal.
The hotel is on the top of a hill (which helps the views) but if you are arriving by train at Circular Quay station its either a very short taxi ride or an uphill walk. The taxi ride from the airport was about 35 Austrailian $.
There is a lift from the car park entrance in Harrington Street which takes you to reception level which reduces the final climb up Essex Street.
We could not fault the hotel at all, we only wished we had booked for longer.

Room Tip: Ask for 805

Check in was great at this hotel..no lines! I had parked in the Wilson car park and not valet that was probably my only issue with the hotel...I could have paid $28 for my parking if I had been organised to book it online (had seen a deal with Wilsons but forgot and could only book it more than 1 hour prior to arrival..so my fault, the Wilson's car park is attached to the hotel via 2 lifts) I guess if we had done valet they would have helped us with our bags (mind you the very helpful checkin staff did offer to help me anyway as I was on my own, with baby, at checkin, hubby and older child went to the Opera house)...so maybe if you have lots of bags do the valet.
The room we had 1703 had a good view I guess you cannot say fantastic as it was slightly obstructed but could still see the harbour bridge and cruise ships docked at Circular Quay fine. It was clean the sofa bed was made up already and reasonably comfortable.
I didn't use the kitchen facilities only the microwave which was handy, it was good to know for next time!
The bathroom was done in marble so it has stood up, its not fantasticly modern but very nice great to have a tub.
the pool area is worth a visit, even for the view. My 8 year old loved the pool and couldn't get her out!!
Overall a great stay will stay again.

Room Tip: I guess ask for a view
