“More Budget than Business”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Due to the Origin Football game in Sydney, found myself short of accommodation options in Sydney. Park Regis is centrally located within the CBD and very close to busses and trains.

The reception area is small and the rooms were averaged sized. I had an executive room which was neatly decorated, the bathroom could be improved a bit. It was abnormally warm for the time of year, but with the AC set to heat centrally, I could not cool down the room. One of the elevators was not working either.

I spent $280p.n for this room which is too high for what you get. Probably should be around $125-$150. It is also quite noisy with a lot of traffic from the busy road. I do not believe there are dining or breakfast options as no one at the front desk shared any of this information when I checked in.

Not bad, not good. Adequate for what I needed.

Room Tip: As high a possible from street level.

Dear JVNMelbourne

Thank you for your recent review of Park Regis City Centre. I acknowledge that the reception area in our hotel is smaller than average however we provide all the services you would expect in a city hotel. I am pleased that you found your room neatly decorated and a satisfactory size. The air conditioning in the hotel is a centralised system meaning there is one temperature for the whole building. During your stay the air conditioning was set to heat as Sydney was in winter. For guests who prefer the room cooler we suggest you switch the air conditioning to off. All rooms have opening windows for fresh air and we always have additional fans and heaters available from reception for all guests. The hotel has two elevators and unfortunately one of these was taken out of service for repairs during your stay, I apologise for any delays this may have caused. The hotel is currently installing new double glazed windows to reduce the traffic noise in our rooms. We do not have a restaurant or bar in the hotel however we utilise the Coffee Club café next door to the hotel for breakfast and there are a large number of dining options within walking distance. I am sorry this was not mentioned at check-in, I will follow up with our front desk staff. Thank you once again for your review.

Kind Regards

The hotel is centrally located. Close to all the key shopping and entertainment sites needed in Sydney. I stayed here on business and although the room was to the small side, found my stay comfortable and relaxing. Good restaraunt a close by and at a decent price point I would definitely stay here again.

It is actually a motel. we stayed there for one night, and it was almost ok.
the rooms were almost clean, but when we checked the windows, there were a lot of dust around them. the hot water was not working, so they told us to use the room in front of us for shower.
the shower in our room was too low, so if your height was over 160 cm, you would have problem! fortunately the shower in the other room was ok.
air conditioning was not working, and the room was cold in the night.
the worst thing was when we wanted to go to the airport. it was raining a lot, and we had 2 heavy luggages, we had to hurry to the airport. so I asked the reception to call a taxi. instead of calling for a taxi, they told us to go on the other side of the street, and find it ourselves! very unacceptable.
the location was the only good thing. it was a few minutes walk from Hyde park and around 25 minutes walk to Opera house. it was also 5 minutes walk to the metro station.
overall, for night sleep it is ok, for longer stay, try to find another place.

Dear skymohammad
Thank you for your review of Park Regis City Centre. Our rooms are cleaned every day by our housekeeping team. As part of the inspection process all areas of the room are checked, I apologise if there was dust around the window in your room. The showers in all rooms are also checked regularly which includes checking the water temperature. I note that the front desk staff was able to offer you an alternate room while we arranged for an Engineer to be called. The air conditioning at our hotel is a centralised system and the temperature is set for the whole building. Inside each room there is a switch which controls the fan speed. We also supply individual portable heaters or fans from the reception desk for guests who prefer the room hotter or cooler. A taxi rank is located directly opposite the hotel.
Our Reception staff normally suggests guests to use the taxi rank as it is quicker than making a telephone booking. Of course for guests with heavy luggage we are more than happy to help with a booking or to assist in crossing the street. I apologise that this did not happen on this occasion and will use this opportunity to remind our front desk staff. Thank you for your positive comments regarding our location. I appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback and thank you for staying at our hotel.
Kind Regards

We stayed here for one night. The service was good, the room was clean and the location was fantastic. The room was fairly basic but it was all we needed. There was some traffic noise but it wasn't too bad. I'd stay here again.

We stayed here for a weekend in town and its ok for the money but not the best deal you will ever get. Perfectly fine for a few nights. The beds were comfortable and the staff were great, the hotel itself could do with a bit of work.

Dear _J0hn_H72

Thank you very much for your review. I am pleased that you found the bed in your room comfortable and that our staff helped you to enjoy your stay. The hotel is about to undertake refurbishment of the corridors, these works will improve the appearance of the hotel which you have noted in your review. I appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback.

Dear scotsman111

Thank you for your review of our hotel. In regards to the facilities at our hotel we have a roof top observation deck and swimming pool, onsite car parking and the hotel lobby and internet café. We do not have a restaurant or bar however we are close to a wide variety of choices all within walking distance. The Coffee Club café is located next door to the hotel and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chinatown and Darling Harbour are both within 10-12 minutes walking distance and both areas have a large choice of restaurants. As well as these main areas there are several restaurants in the streets surrounding the hotel. For lunch I can also suggest the food courts in either the Galleries Victoria building or underneath Myer on Pitt Street. As for walking around this area late at night, exercise some common sense and the city centre is generally safe. The streets surrounding the hotel are quite busy and there are people out and about throughout the night. Again thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Kind Regards

Stayed here for 3 nights in June with 2 friends. Location is fantastic and so were the staff. We were able to check in early which was an added bonus. The rooms are small yes but for the price who cares. We pretty much used the room to sleep and thats it. If you want to have a holiday in your room then this is not the place. The housekeeping staff serviced our room daily and were very friendly. There is a bit of noise in the street but that is hardly the hotel's fault.

Overall it was a good place to stay especially for it's location to everything.
