“Well located luxury hotel at Sydney Harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

The Park Hyatt is superbly located with one side (the entrance) in the Rocks - the historical and arty part of Sydney and the other facing Sydney Harbour. Great rooms, laid out so you have a lovely view from the balconies of the Harbour and even the Opera House. A round table serves as desk and dining table, a king size bed etc. Huge bathrooms with a separate toilet, separate shower and tub area etc. The concierge is pretty good and I would definitely recommend you leverage his expertise for food reccos. He also got me onto the Bridge Climb at very short notice which was my best Sydney experience. I was disappointed with a room service snafu wrt breakfast which was delayed 90 minutes while they messed up my order twice but the rest of the time it was good. The duty manager did apologise in writing but yes that was disappointing.

Room Tip: Ask for a Harbour view preferably of the Opera House.

I have stayed at so many Hyatt properties these days for business and private travel they sometimes blend in..This one is a stand out property as expected, post full refurb overall it's a good job..down side are someone never thought to 'seal' the marble tables in the rooms or restaurants and so they look knocked about already...and the light switches can be a bit of a challenge at times...
The high points have to be the front desk team and concierge (Christian) nothing was ever a problem, reservation at Quay-done! Opera-tickets done! Water taxi - done!, could not have asked for better service, pool side was the same, breakfast staff, the whole lot where fine...so much we have booked for a second week on our next trip to Sydney and stayed in a bridge view suite...
Size of the bedrooms were suitable and toileteries suitable, all in keeping with the cost of the stay. Gym was well maintained and adequate, though free weights went to 10kg then jumped to 25kg???
Down side for the rooftop suite was it had only one toilet which was rather small by comparison to everything else and was off when hosting meetings/guests in my suite...design flaw...
Cost of the stay was inline with expectation for this well located property...

** do keep in mind when catching a taxi you have to travel through CBD traffic most of the time which can delay things...

Room Tip: Bridge View gives you a different slant on things, Harbour view is the best though...some without su...

We stayed one night for our 20th Wedding Anniversary in May 2013. As it was a very special occasion we decided to treat ourselves and stay here. Let me say straight away this is an expensive hotel. I have stayed in many 'benchmark' hotels around the world incl. The Waldorf Astoria New York and the Ritz Carlton San Francisco, and they are 'value' in comparison. First the disappointment. We got a very good rate via a corporate connection, still $450.00, but when we were given our Harbour view room (see picture) I was very disappointed, firstly because you could only see the harbour from the very end of our balcony (a lot more tree than water) and not anywhere in the room, and secondly because as the hotel was almost empty (mid week, we didn't see a sole in the hallway) they choose to give us the worst room, that could still be considered 'harbour view'. It was right down the end and honestly a full 5 min walk from the lifts. This type of 'penny pinching' does not warm me to stay again, or recommend them. Now the good, and there is a lot of it. The room is modern and I suspect recently renovated. The decor is 'clean lined' and a nice mixture of dark wood, white and natural tones. The bathroom was excellent, although the 'wet room' shower and bath does not lend itself to having a bath and shower at the same time. A separate 'multi-function' toilet was interesting to say the least (heated seat, bidet etc) and basin was nice private space. The room had ample wardrobe space and upscale coffee and mini bar options, bath robes and a generous king size bed. The TV was fine, but oddly located quite low for viewing in bed. Overall a 5 star room. good service ...but disappointing 'punishment' for getting a cheaper rate.

Room Tip: If you want a harbour view you will have to pay full price ... no generosity here.

We stayed here on our honeymoon, and the staff bent over backwards to make our experience special, celebratory and romantic, from the welcome champagne tea to the postcard-worthy view of the opera house from our room. Despite being a relatively large city property, the staff was as friendly, attentive, and gracious as though we had been the only guests. Definitely the place to stay in Sydney!

The new refurbishment is so beautiful. Rooms looking on to the Opera House with wonderful glass balconies, and Japan style bathrooms. The bar was lovely to sit with a glass of wine and watch this beautiful city. Our romantic getaway was more than I could have anticipated.

Room Tip: Breakfast was the only thing not up to scratch. The food was cold and dishes piled up.Waiter staff w...

It's a great location and the rooms are spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The service is what sets this hotel apart. The staff are quite simply superb. They bend over backwards to ensure your stay is perfect. They really are the benchmark against which all my future hotel stays will be compared. Magnificent.

Whilst we were only in for a relaxing 1 night stay, the experience was perfect. Room comfort was great, size adequate and overall couldn't fault. Service was impeccable and the view says it all.

The only small negative is that it seems slightly overpriced in the marketplace even considering all of the above.
