“Accor Member pointless”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We have stayed in this hotel many times before. I am now an Accor member which costs some $395/year, no idea why. As a member we were given the worst room in the hotel, in fact it was a disabled room, right next to the noise of the maids store-room and lift, the fridge stank of 4 week old milk there was a bad stain at the entrance to the room and I am sure it was the smallest room in the entire hotel. We complained the next day and they moved us however the fact they gave an Accor member the worst room sticks in my throat. You would think they would look after their repeat guests, but no!!

This hotel is in serious need of renovation, the rooms are looking old and worn out. There is no way they should hold a 4.5 star rating, it is more like a 3 star hotel and I stay in hotels every week all over the world. Will not be staying here again and am definitely NOT renewing my membership.

My partner and I stayed overnight at this hotel for my graduation at the Convention Centre. The room was nice, clean and spacious. After previously staying 4 nights in Mercure Perth, we were pleasantly surprised with the touch of luxury in this hotel. Nice modern bathroom and large TV. Parking was $45 and overpriced but at least the stay was faultless, so cant really complain!

The highlight of our stay was ordering a 3-course meal late that evening and having a table rolled into the room. It’s a bit odd though that there was only 1 chair in the room. It was ok as I sat on the couch, which was an appropriate height for the table. The food was delicious! We ordered the lamb and calamari entrée, salmon and chicken main, and the panna cotta and cheesecake dessert. We were soooo satisfied, especially after the long day we had.

We had a late check out and walked over to Harbourside for lunch at Dragon Boat. It was a great stay and would definitely book again if we needed an overnighter in the city.

easy access for tourist and wedding venue events, do think breakfast was pricey and could be improved, would go out for breakfast and enjoy beautiful views and cheaper meal.
Would highly recommend hop on hop off captain cook cruise of harbor.

We moved here after a couple of nights in another hotel on the other side of Darling Harbour. The hotel room exceeded our expectations. We had a large suite overlooking Darling Habour. The room had both a sofa & a comfy chair in addition to an office chair at the desk, which was great when friends & family came to visit. The bathroom had Water Saving showerheads - well done Novotel on this initiative. We dined in the hotel restaurant one night, and as we were members of the Accor Advantage Plus this gave us a 50% discount on the food. We would stay here again.

Thanks for your review and for sharing your positive comments on tripadvisor!

It is a pleasure to receive such great feedback, especially in regards to our water saving shower-heads, which are just a small part of the commitment Novotel hotels have made to sustainability through our Planet 21 program.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Managed to book a room when Accor Hotels had a special on. This made the reservation very affordable for accommodation in a great location. Easily accessible from the Airport, by taking the train and the light rail, without the expense of taxis.
Rooms are large, beds comfortable and service was attentive. The only draw back is wifi is only free for 30 mins per day in public areas, and wifi in room is rather expensive.

We arrived at 9am and a very helpful and friendly young guy by the name of Daniel helped us check in, we were expecting to be told to come back at 2pm however Daniel advised that they had a room ready for us then and there! We were in a city view room on the 8th floor, the room was very spacious and looked as though it was fairly newly renovated. We opened the curtains to see he beautiful Sydney skyline right in front of us, this view is by far the best of any hotel in Sydney!

Soon after we got to our room we left for the day, the Pyrmont bridge is right out the front so walking to the city side of the harbour takes 5-8 mins and is a very easy walk.

We only stayed the one night and after a big day in the city we ended up getting room service which was very reasonably priced and was prompt and delicious!

The next day we checked out by express check out, it was so quick and simple!

I'd stay here again purely for the location of this hotel, it's about a 2 minute walk to the casino, the Harbourside shopping mall, restaurants and bars are all out the front and the main part of the city is no more than a 10 minute walk away, which is all alongside of the beautiful harbour.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a city view - it is worth it!!!!
