“Superb room with enough space to swing a Fish comfortably.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

Top floor room I was placed but a Force had better plans for me.
A fault had emerged so double suite was in order with luxury abound. Fluffy robe to lay in, chocolates to seduce. Nespresso to wake me, Heated pool to bath, sauna to simmer & gym to well, just look at. Lol Block out window shutters for that long sleep, Devine.
Sommelier French wine specialist Xavier pours a fabulous drop to Quaff & chat.
Mark's restaurant runs like a Swiss clock. The service by all is done with a smile. My trip to Sydney has raised to a new level by The Mercure Hotel.

This is the type of Hotel you would like to stay at longer. We unfortunately only spent two nights here and vowed to return and spend more time. As a family of four and one Grandmother we were given two rooms next to each other, each with two Queen beds. Lovely large size rooms, immaculately clean, king size thick towels and all expected facilities in the room.
We took the breakfast option and could not believe the spread of choices covering tables down two walls and a central long servery. I have never seen such a generous selection on my travels.
Nothing was too much trouble and all staff that we dealt with were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. The location is perfect as the Hotel is a short walk from Central Station from where you can travel almost anywhere. I highly recommend this Hotel when in Sydney.

We are so happy that you chose the Mercure Sydney for your stay with the family. I’m sorry to hear your stay was shorter than you wanted but it sounds like we definitely made a good impression on your visit. I also love the large rooms, they are spacious and great for accommodating the whole family and I am glad we were able to make your experience a special one. We certainly hope to see you again in the future with you and your family. Greg Brady, General Manager

I stay at this hotel every 4 - 6 weeks for business. Services is always great (with the breakfast F&B Manager actually coming around to find out how things are going)! Last week I checked in to a the hotel quite late and was put in a smoking room. Called reception to change at 10:30 pm and was reallocated a room within 5 minutes - exception service when you're tired from travel and it is pretty late at night.
Most rooms have exceptional views down George Street, and all are fitted with a black-out blind + secondary blind which really work. Ironing board is in-room, which makes good for budget conscious business travellers!
Rooms are always super clean as are bathrooms. I tend to upgraded through Le Club, but even standard rooms are super spacious, have heaps of sockets and very quiet. Pool and Gym are pretty good for standard inner city hotel.
Location is awesome - 2 min walk to central which makes easy transition to most parts of town and taxi/train to airport.
Breakfast is fairly good (coffee pretty average but, I compare to melbourne)! Fresh fruit and yoghurt are always tasty.
Highly recommend a stay here for business.

Room Tip: Ask for non-smoking. I have travelled here quite a lot and didn't know they had a smoking floor...

It is a pleasure having you with us every 4 – 6 weeks here at the Mercure Sydney. I’m so happy to hear that you were able to get a new room within five minutes. It is our goal to ensure that each and every one of our guests receives a high level of service in a comfortable, clean, and inspiring environment. The black-out blinds are ideal for those who like a dark room and/or are travelling, they’re wonderful. It’s so great to read that you would recommend a stay here to anyone. We look forward to serving you again on your next business trip. Greg Brady, General Manager

Our stay was too short it being conveniently located near Central railway station. Having experienced one of our to do train trips on the XPT and arriving into Sydney at night the Mercure's location was ideal. Due to other commitments we needed to fly out early morning so were unable to utilise all the features. A drink in the downstairs bar finalised our travels for the day. The helpful staff arranged the airport shuttle for early morning and were all friendly and helpful.

We chose this hotel for the convenience of the location and because we could use our Accor points to stay there. When we arrived it was raining and it was great to be able to get secure parking in the undercover garage and to thereafter use public transport to attend Vivid. Our room on the 9th floor was great - it was long and narrow and overlooked both Central Station and along George Street. The room had everything we expected and was both clean and comfortable - not that we spent a lot of time there. It felt a bit like a fish bowl with so many windows - The George St side overlooking a block of apartments. We pulled down the window blinds to give us privacy and to shut out the bright city lights and slept well. Next morning at breakfast we didn't have to wait long to be seated and there were plenty of choices. The service was good. Overall we were satisfied with our stay and found it very convenient.

Thank you so much for coming to visit us. It is so exciting to hear you were able to use your Accor points and reap all of the benefits of the hotel. Between the underground car park, a clean room, and a hot breakfast, it sounds like you both enjoyed your experience at the Mercure Sydney as well as being able to see Vivid. We certainly hope to see you both again in the future for another event or just a leisure visit. Greg Brady, General Manager

Convenient Location, across the road from central train tation.Very busy reception. Very rushed check in. Called before arriving to see if my room was ready, but were told they couldn't tell me. Room was nice, very clean and modern but small. Beds comfy as well.
