Booked this via a last minute website, and was very happy with the place. I arrived two hours early, but there was a room available and early check-in was no problem. I had their "basic" room - which consists of a nice king bed, large work desk, two chairs, big built-in wardrobe, and a very nice bathroom with walk-in shower and separate bathtub. I had a view over the Sydney Tower building site but didn't find it very noisy - if you are more sensitive to noise ask for a room on the other side of the building. I didn't hear any guest noise except the rare bit of chatter from the lift area.
The bed is quite firm, which is what I personally prefer, so this may not be the place for you if you like soft beds. There is a large LCD tv in the room with local and some Foxtel channels. Housekeeping were very prompt when I called up for extra towels to wash my hair (it's very long).
All the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and discreet. The woman at check-in gave me a discount voucher for breakfast in their restaurant, but I didn't end up using it. If you want to eat cheaply, the Central Plaza food court just around the corner has lots of options to suit all tastes, the Retro Cafe across the street is also good, or you could get on the monorail and travel 5 minutes to Darling Harbour or Chinatown and find a restaurant or cafe there.
Recommended for a truly comfortable stay in the heart of the CBD. Booking via some websites you can get a room here for only a few dollars more than a three star hotel, and it's well worth it.
