We stayed here 30th Nov - 6th Dec. Location is terrific - right on Darling Harbour next to plenty of bars & restaurants and all the entertainment of Darling Harbour. Its right next to Sydney Aquarium . Wynyard Station is four blocks away with direct access to the airport. Sydney Ferries terminal is a short stroll away and there is a new harbourside walkway that takes you to Circular Quay & the Bridge - a great morning run ! We had an apartment & self catered. It was spacious & well equipped with a balcony & harbour views. However you won't have a peaceful drink on the balcony ( though the room was quiet & sleep not a problem) as the hotel is right next to a busy expressway. However a pedestrian bridge / lift gets you across this into central Sydney & the heart of the shopping on George St. There is a mini Coles supermarket & bottle shop on the corner of George & King St so self catering is easy. Its pretty unbeatable for value in central Sydney if you want to self cater. Staff were terrific, helpful & friendly. Wi Fi is available ( 30 free mins then paid for). We would certainly stay here again when in Sydney.

We stayed here for 3 nights in early Jan2013 in the interleading corner rooms. The rooms are fair sized and has a washing machine with dryer which is ideal if u on a wash n wear holiday esp with kids. The service level needs to be chalked up a tad here. We found our rooms to be not thoroughly cleaned. Being a hotel on a busy intersection with balcony access you would want to emphasise more on cleanliness. I dont think our balconies were cleaned in the last month. A coke can from a previous guest still lies in our balcony during our 3 days stay. Most apartment style hotels provide free washing liquids and detergents - not here im afraid. Id agree with other reviews that free wifi should be offered with the price we pay. We also returned to our room one afternoon to find our sofa had been removed. Upon enquiry it was stated it went for reupholstering. There are a few convenience stores to stock up on ammenities. There are two halaal eating places in Harbourview Mall. Muslims be aware of dubious places stating they are halal. Some of which place halal signs but they are not!! Rather check with Muslim staff or look for official Australian Islamic certificate. This is a lovely hotel placed in an ideal location to view Sydney at its best - mall, bus route, harbour tours, etc.

Stayed here for a week over new year (expensive, but then so was everywhere else at that time). Great location and despite being in the heart of Darling Harbour was reasonably quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room (a one bed apartment) was very clean with a very comfortable bed and had everything we needed. I only have two gripes, one was that the balcony was a bit pointless as it was very narrow and above a very busy main road and the second was that the wireless internet access was expensive and a very poor connection, for that reason alone I'd be reluctant to book here again. These days most hotels should be able to offer good free wifi.

We stayed in this hotel for three days Over the New Years rate was very high but compared to most hotels over this time we felt reasonable.Reception staff excellent,helpfull,friendly,informative Kate in particular was outstanding in her service and advice.Room typical of Grand Medina apartments,we were upgraded to an apartment from hotel room but were only on the first floor so no view.That being said sound proofing was good we were not disturbed by traffic ,nightclubs.pubs or other guests.Location was wonderful for us we couldn't have been better placed.We did not make use of pool or gym area but they looked very nice.free luggage hold was much appreciated and completed with a smile all in all a pleasant stay with excellent reception staff .We would return but would hope for a better tariff.
