“Highly recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

I stayed for 2 nights in a King Eastern Harbour view room. The room was very nicely appointed and very spacious. There was plenty of hanging and storage space. The room has a nice windown seat which provides a nice place to relax and enjoy the harbour and Botannical Garden views. The bed was very comfortable with nice linen and a choice of pillows available. I found the bathroom to be a disappointment as it is here that the hotel shows its age. It was small, although very clean. The bathtub being an older style was really too small to use as a bath tub and the shower was over the bath. There was definitely no sense of indulgence or luxury about the bathroom.

My room overlooked the Cahill Expressway and the road traffic was quite noisy. In addition to this there was a band playing somewhere in the hotel which was quite audible from my room.

I ordered room service and the quality of the meal was very good, if a little expensive. Breakfast in Cafe Opera offered an extensive range and the staff were unobstrusive, but helpful.

All my Ambassador entitlements were provided by the hotel. On checkout there were a couple of errors on the bill, however these were quickly rectified.

I would certainly recommend this hotel for its quality and location in Sydney and I will certainly return on my next visit.

“Always a pleasure to stay at the InterContinental”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

I went to Sydney with a friend for my birthday weekend and staying at the Intercon topped off what was a fabulous weekend in lovely Sydney. As expected, and like the other times I have stayed here, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The room was lovely and even though we were in a twin share room, the beds were very comfy. Loved my stay and look forward to staying again. Thanks for making my birthday weekend one to remember.

“Amazing views of Sydney Harbour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

My family and I recently spent 3 nights at the Intercon Sydney. It's in a great location and with service to match. We opted to stay in City View Club Rooms, as this gives you access to one of the best club lounge. The rooms are well appointed and beds are comfortable. The staff who work in the lounge are friendly, attentive and offer you the best service - nothing is too much trouble. The facilities in the lounge are fantastic - meeting rooms, DVD/TV, shower, PC's, a great selection at breakfast and at evening drinks / canapes, and of course the Club Lounge has an amazing view of Sydney Harbour!!!

Room Tip: Book a city view room on the club floor, as you will gain access to the club lounge were you can enj...

“Perfect location, helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights around New Years Eve and it was a great experience. From the moment we checked in we felt very welcome by the staff, they helped us a lot. We had a room on the 30th floor facing the botanical gardens, the bed was large and very comfortable, there was good storage and the décor was really nice and tastful. Complimentary tea and coffe was stocked daily. The bathroom had a small window that could be opened, a funny detail. The pool at the top floor had great views of the Sydney Opera house and the bridge, they also have a fully equipped gym. The location is the best, right at the heart of Circular Quay so you can easily get everywhere you want by ferries, train or bus, or by foot. The only negative I can think of is that internet is a bit expensive. All in all I can highly recommend this hotel.

“Fanastic location but even better staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

I recently stayed here with my wife for a short getaway for our wedding anniversary. The Intercontinental Sydney is in a fantastic position walking distance to all major destination of Sydney with beautiful views of the harbour.

Our stay wouldn't have been as amazing as it was if it wasn't for the staff. From check in to check out hands down the best, most friendly and enthusiastic staff that I have come across from all my travels. They went above and beyond their duty to ensure that our stay was one to remember and I thank them for everything they did.
