“Perfect location, helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights around New Years Eve and it was a great experience. From the moment we checked in we felt very welcome by the staff, they helped us a lot. We had a room on the 30th floor facing the botanical gardens, the bed was large and very comfortable, there was good storage and the décor was really nice and tastful. Complimentary tea and coffe was stocked daily. The bathroom had a small window that could be opened, a funny detail. The pool at the top floor had great views of the Sydney Opera house and the bridge, they also have a fully equipped gym. The location is the best, right at the heart of Circular Quay so you can easily get everywhere you want by ferries, train or bus, or by foot. The only negative I can think of is that internet is a bit expensive. All in all I can highly recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed here with my wife for a short getaway for our wedding anniversary. The Intercontinental Sydney is in a fantastic position walking distance to all major destination of Sydney with beautiful views of the harbour.

Our stay wouldn't have been as amazing as it was if it wasn't for the staff. From check in to check out hands down the best, most friendly and enthusiastic staff that I have come across from all my travels. They went above and beyond their duty to ensure that our stay was one to remember and I thank them for everything they did.

I enjoyed staying in this hotel. It was across from the Botanical Gardens and walkable to the ferry, opera house, and convenient to restaurants. The services was very good as well as the breakfast. We were in Sydney for only four days and would recommend staying a little longer. A wonderful hotel in a great city!

Stayed here for 3 nights on the last leg of our Sydney trip. Have stayed at many hotels in this city including the shangri la just along the quay, we can't decide which one is better out of the two but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Our king room on the 17th floor was spacious and comfortable and was supposed to be a city view room so didn't expect much but we were lucky to get a view of the botanical gardens which was a lovely surprise! We had breakfast included in our rate which was a delicious buffet breakfast and were spoilt for choice what to eat each morning. The pool on the 31st floor is small but ample and provides amazing views over the harbour of the opera house and harbour bridge, got some great photos from up there. We enjoyed our stay so much we wished we were staying longer and will hopefully return here when we next visit Sydney!

This is a fantastic hotel for anyone visiting sydney. The rooms are spacious and the location is perfect being right near Circular Key. .

We had a city view room and whilst the room was very nice I think the rooms could do with a soft refurbishment and being a 5 star hotel, a shower over the bath isnt what you would come to expect.

This is possible different in the harbour view and club rooms.

The pool is small but the view is amazing and I would highly recommend a splash :)

The club lounge would be amazing as it is on the top floor. Highly recommend to those with the cash to do so.

Room Tip: Chose a club room if possible as room and club lounge look amazing.

We stayed in the northeast corner suite on the 17th floor, and the experience was world class. My wife and I stayed in a very luxurious king bedroom, with plenty of closet and drawer space to unpack all of our family’s four pieces of luggage. Our two kids each slept on roll away beds in the suite area, which were provided to us by the hotel at no issue. The views from our room were of the Opera House in the Sydney Harbor, and the room was very quiet the entire time, even though Circular Quay is just a few blocks away. We booked through AMEX Platinum and thus our breakfasts were included. The buffet breakfast is diverse, healthy, and ever-changing each day. The selection was so broad that even though we ate four breakfasts there, it never got stale. The fitness facility on the 31st floor has panoramic views of the city, and all of the exercise equipment that you could ever want. Make sure not to miss the Maritime Museum in Darling Harbor, with an Australian submarine and destroyer to tour—a must see for the family.

Room Tip: The northern face of the property faces Sydney Harbor, so try and get a room there.

Nice place to visit on a wet Sunday afternoon in Sydney! Three of us went for the buffet afternoon tea which included sparkling wine on arrival, the choice of several teas and help yourself buffet. The food was delicious and included sandwiches, savoury tarts and pies, waffles, crepes, creme brulees, cheeseboard, mini pavlovas, scones with cream and jam, and a variety of sweet cakes and slices. What I ate was delicious but certainly couldn't get through all that was available to try!! My tip would be not to have any lunch before you go, so you go with an appetite which we did! A pleasant way to spend an afternoon with attentive staff.
