“Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

Spent one night in the Ibis. I asked for 2 x double beds but ended up with 2 x single small beds.
The rooms was so tiny and with no where to put your luggage we both felt squashed.
The shower area was also small-being tall I felt like a giant!
The windows could have done with some curtains as in the morning the sun would shine directly into the room..NO SLEEP IN.
Breaky was very good.
Staff are excellent!

Its a budget hotel, would rather pay that extra and get a bigger bed and room..

Room Tip: Pay that extra for a bigger room and confirm with your booking you get harbour view.

We had two nights on the top floor (10) in a harbour view room. Although very small the room was fine, but it may be a problem if you had big suitcases . The location was great. We walked all around Darling Harbour, Paddies Market, to The Rocks and up Market Street to the shops. Cleanliness of the room was fine and breakfast very good. Can highly recommend eating at The Little Snail just a short walk down the road. Didn't have any luck getting wifi from our room though. Parking was $40 per day.

Room Tip: Harbour view room for sure

We arrived at this hotel at 7:30am after a tiring flight from Singapore. On arrival we found the staff superb and courteous and very helpful. Although we arrived too early for booking in, the staff found us a vacant room to book into, this was on the top floor facing the Darling Harbour, luxury. The hotel is in an excellent spot, on 5 minutes from the harbour. The breakfast was very good, choice of foods to meet all tastes and plenty of it. On the evening there were offers of value meals and drinks. Only downside was that free wifi was only for 30mins as this was the only way to contact our relatives in Australia. Very small moan. Rooms were clean and comfortable and there was offer of a safe deposit box if required at no cost. I would book into this hotel again due to its location and comfortableness of this 'budget hotel'

Room Tip: Ask for a room on harbourside if possible for excellent views

Really really not a nice hotel. I paid a fortune for a room that was dark, pokey, dirty and deeply depressing. I even had to ask for my pillows to be changed as they smelled so dirty and disgusting. They were replaced very quickly, but with equally nasty smelling ones. It was horrible and made my hair smell disgusting. Everyone seems to comment on how great the location is, but really I don't agree. Darling Harbour is a pretty characterless and boring area and it's not a very nice walk to shopping areas and much smarter parts of town like the Rocks. Positives (which don't remotely offset the disgustingness of the rooms) are the service, which was friendly and the breakfast, which was actually pretty nice (including real Heinz baked beans) and was in their light and airy terrace area. I will never ever stay here again though.

Room Tip: Just don't have my room - which was 101. It was disgusting, dark, smelly and dirty.

Stayed overnight to attend the Lion King. Rooms are basic, but clean & comfortable. Had a buffet breakfast and it had enough to make us happy. It's in a great location, short walk to shops and all the amenities of Darling Harbour. A good walk to the stations and the city.
