We stayed at the Ibis 5 nights for the New Years Eve celebrations. This was our first visit to Sydney, and as a base for seeing the city this hotel was excellent. The room was a double harbour view room. Yes the room was small but there was enough room for our 2 large suitcases (we were touring Australia therefore had lots of luggage). The room had all the necessary equipment, fridge, kettle, tea/coffee, iron & board. The bathroom had a small shower. The room was clean & we had daily clean towels & bed linen.
The pros, good basic hotel in excellent location. Plenty of restaurants & bars on the Darling harbour. We had booked a NYE cruise which left from Pymont pier so we couldn't have been any nearer.
Cons, wifi expensive, but other than that, if you want a base for exploring this wonderful city, Ibis was excellent value.
