“Great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Stayed here for 4 nights with the family in october. Check in wasn't so great but once we finally got a room everything was ok.

Had a room facing the opera house and the view was just spectacular. Close to all transportation and the beds were the best I have ever slept in.

Would highly recommend this motel.

I stayed with my husband and my young daughter for New year' eve, paying a ridiculous amount of close to US $ 900 a night for this small room with a king bed and two chairs . I asked for a rollaway bed for my daughter and they told that I will be charged an extra 55 dollars a night. Bar downstairs very pricey. If you stay there is walking distance to the Rocks which they have good restaurants. Don't eat at the Quay Harbor food is highly expensive and mediocre. We decided after three nights to moved to the. Hilton, better location and treatment, when we asked for the bill we found out the besides the $55 a day the charged for the rollaway bed, the charged $ 55 a night for an extra person, my daughter. My husband had to dispute that charge. Never staying again .

Dear MiaMobile,

Thank you for sharing with your review with us. We are deeply sorry that your recent stay at the Sydney Harbour Marriott was unsatisfactory. Pricing over New Year's Eve period can be quite steep, in particular for hotels around CIrcular Quay area overlooking the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
Once again we apologised that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We do appreciate your feedback and thank you for having given us the opportunity to host you.

Kindest Regards,
Jennifer Brown

I had read great reviews, which also mentioned location, but that is just the icing on the cake. Fantastic, well run hotel. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which included a wonderful buffet breakfast and use of the lounge, which also served a nice breakfast and snacks and drinks throughout the day. The room was well laid out, although there were a minimum of drawers. The bath was large with fluffy towels and bathrobes (Always a good way to judge a hotel).

Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the concierges. They helped me with getting a understanding of where everything was located and how to get around with the ferries. What a fun way to travel!

This is the place to stay when in Sydney!

Stayed in this hotel for 2 days on business. Simple furnishing, but functional, so no complaints about it. Great location as its within walking distance to opera house and harbor bridge. The concierge was extremely helpful and friendly. Dispensing accurate and precise information. Would choose to stay here again on my next trip.

Room Tip: Strange layout with curves and corners. Probably would ask to stay nearer to the escalator as there...

We stayed at this hotel and the location was perfect for us. We were able to walk to the party boat on New Years Eve and when we did a beaches tour that ended in Manly we were able to take the ferry across Sidney Harbor and walk the 200 meters to this hotel. Interesting park nearby and an inexpensive place to eat breakfast and lunch right next door instead of the very expensive buffet at the hotel.

Room Tip: There are choices of views. So pick a price.

my husband and i stayed here for 3 nights, and felt so spoiled! the room was gorgeous and very clean, we had a great view of the harbor bridge, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. GREAT location for sightseeing around sydney, and just a short walk from the harbor, opera house, etc. also, the breakfast is amazing!!

Room Tip: try to get a room on an upper floor on the harbor side - great view of the bridge!

Two minutes walk to Circular Quay and ferries to anywhere on the harbour, ten minutes walk to the main shopping area. Standard Marriott fare, so highly dependable. If you are eligible to use the executive lounge the service there is prompt and the food of high quality. Check-in, check-out service was prompt and courteous. We were disappointed in the "At Your Service" phone connection being forced to listen to long advertisement before talking to someone. Also there are no ice machines. Somewhat poor in a major hotel.
