“Awesome hotel - maybe a little expensive for some - but so worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2010

I loved this hotel - right in the heart of Sydney - you can't get a better location. The staff were great and willing to help. My biggest point-of-difference and the key reason I would choose this hotel again is for the TV in the shower. I had four showers and only stayed one night! Apart from that, this hotel has all the usual five star luxuries. The breakfast was great and the coffee was good too (most hotels don't make very good coffee - but the Sydney Hitlon is an exception). Although it can be a bit expensive depending on your budget - I would definitely pay a bit extra for this hotel again.

The Hilton is in a great location and certainly has very stylish rooms - but the rooms are SMALL. They are some of the smallest rooms I have stayed in (at a proper hotel anyway!). I spent two nights there - the first was on a side facing the construction on Pitt St mall - and the jackhammers started up at 6:30am and did not stop - so any ideas of a small sleep in were abandoned. The second night I asked to be moved - I was hoping the next room would be bigger but it was identical. The general lack of light from the smallish windows is a problem too. The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast - it is one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had in Australia.

Had three nights away from the kids for a bit of shopping/ sightseeing so booked a little luxury with the Hilton. Everything was pretty much perfect, staff were fantastic, location excellent, rooms lovely and the breakfast just plain awesome. Even had a TV in the shower which left me a little perplexed - how am I supposed to conserve precious water (as the leaflet in the bathroom advised) when I can watch TV while showering??
We would definitely use the Hilton again, as I said in the title - Hard to Fault!

Stayed for 8 nights AND WITH OUT ANY QUETION this lovely hotel was by far the best hotel in sydney , Once you saty for more than 3 nights you tend to know the staff members and there was an individual who really made a great impact on me and my partner, as I was away for meetings all day my partner ,my wife was in the hotel room all by her self and she truly has been the one using all the guest services ,she did mention about the lovely MAGIC service and how it had really helped her and this particular staff member by the name Ankur ,apart for the friendliness and good recommendation he also helps my wife organise a lovely dinner at GLASS restaurant . She did mention that while every one else use to call her Mrs Sharma ,Ankur was the only one who asked her for her name and remembered it always . He also recommended some good places to eat indian food and also went out of his was to make a reservation with the restaurant . Once we went to the restaurant the staff there treated is special because we where Ankur's friends, that's want they believed.
All in all a good trip and a very lovely hotel .

Catch the train from Sydney Airport to Town Hall Station in around 20 min, alight and walk a few hundred meters to the Hilton Hotel George St, check in and be greeted by smiles, catch the lift, stow your bag and change and head to the best hotel best gym ever....workout and relax in the sauna.

Dinner in the restaurant is as good or better than any of Sydney best, head to the either of two bars that again are as good or better than Sydney’s best.......sleep without noise or light.
Awake and run down George St to the Harbour either to the opera House steps and or Cahill walk across the Harbour Bridge and you have experienced the best of Sydney..

Ps walk the block around the Hilton George and Pitt Streets, check out Josephs Men shoes window, see something you like but the store is closed, ring ahead of your next trip and make arrangements for the shoes to be awaiting you at the Hilton concierge, further check out the sushi place that has a conveyor travelling around the restaurant so you can window shop your dinner....great solo dinner place...

This is a favourite hotel of mine with superb rooms and a great location, but I had a terrible experience this week, After 4 attempts of my card being declined, it finally worked on a different machine with no apology.
Then when my laptop would not connect, I called through to the special helpline "MAGIC" - I got worried when the first question was "which hotel are you in, which city?" Unbelievable. It took almost an hour and we finally got a wired connection, but wirelsss was impossible for the 3 days of my stay. Very inconvenient and for a business hotel, unacceptable, especially when tehy chareg 30 dollars per day - wow!

Then to to discover parking cannot be charged to your room and it is charged at Aus$150 per night until you get a hotel rebate down to 38dollars - this is not good enough.
Overall disappointing stay

Whether you are on business or on leisure, It's definitely a hotel to check in...Located right in the city directly opposite QVB, with plenty of restaurants and shops around you. Darling Harbour and Chinatown is only a short stroll from here. If you are driving in, valet fee is $30.00 which is not too bad for city parking. The room is spacious, staff are friendly and helpful and plenty of space for you to relax in the lobby. It's a shame that they don't have Free WIFI for in house guests. Overall, thumbs up!!
