“nice hotel, good location, good restauarant, small bathrooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Stayed for a couple of weeks on last visit, enjoyed the stay and used the exec lounge every morning for a quick breakfast before work, which was great for cereal fresh fruit decent coffee toast and a selection of cold cuts.
Dinner in the restaurant on level 2 is great- I think its called Bora. Theres a ~20m indoor swimming pool and various saunas and steams downstairs which I used a couple of times and they were great.
rooms clean, laundry etc all as you would expect.
Had a burger from room service which wasn't great one night.
I has an exec room on level 33 which was very nice, the bathroom was small though. If i hadn't been alone it would have annoyed me.
I will be going back.

Thank you for posting your comments on Trip Advisor.

I am pleased you enjoyed your experience in Glass Brasserie and other aspects of your stay with us. However, I was naturally disappointed to discover that your room service meal was not satisfactory and please be assured I have relayed your comments to our Executive Chef accordingly.

Thank you again and we all hope to serve you again very soon.

Sincerely,

Shared a room with a colleague and we were very impressed. Gorgeous room with 2 roomy singles and ensuite.
Excellent location with central Sydney in walking distance.
Conference was on site which was very handy and a very professional venue with multiple venue rooms. Only fault was the lack of WIFI when expected - though this was quickly remedied by the 'on the ball' management.

Again check in quick & easy. Room was 1/2 the size of the Brisbane Hilton with a great view of the office building across the street. However the room was clean & comfortable. Again had breakfast but some of the hot food was only luke warm.
I stayed here just before it was closed for renovations, not much has changed except for some bling.
While it's in a great location I do think the Hotel is relying on it's name.

Hilton Hotel, the name speaks for itself. 5 * hotel, rms reasonably sized n clean. Comfy and location is rite in the middle of the city area. Darling harbour is any less than 8mins walk across the bridge.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

By the time we got here we were already aware that 5 star standards are not the same in Australia as they are in the United States. Don't expect the Ritz Carlton or even a JW Marriott. That being said, we did book a prepay executive room in order to make the stay a little more economical but it still wasn't cheap by any means. We love Sydney but we didn't want to eat out on this one night stay-over on March 10th between our time in Melbourne and a cruise.

We had a room on the executive floor - 33rd floor with a very nice city view. The evening food service in the lounge was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The room was very large and bustling with activity though everyone was easily accommodated with a seat without delay. There was quite a long drink service line where someone provided measured pours the Australian way.

Our room was very small by American standards. But it was larger than the typical tiny European hotel room. But still, much too small for my liking especially in an otherwise modern Hilton. We had a comfortable king size mattress. It was uncomfortable in the respect that there was no separate top sheet for the bed. The duvet cover was the sheet so if you were hot under it, there was no simple sheet to lay under. And yes, I checked very closely to be sure I didn't miss the real sheet. Maybe mine was forgotten or maybe that's how they do it here.

The bathroom was a very poor layout and needlessly tiny. We had a separate shower and tub. Had the shower been built into the tub there would have been sufficient space for the counter to extend down the wall from the sink. As it was there was very little counter space and the design was such that if someone is standing at the sink, the other person couldn't open the shower door to get in or out. It would open directly into the person standing at the sink unless they walk out of the bathroom door. The shower itself had too much unappealing mildew.

There were electric room darkening window shades and manual light filtering shades.

The people who work here are very pleasant including the nice American young woman who checked us in and the bellmen. I would also like to mention that I really appreciated that they stored some luggage for us while we were in Melbourne so we didn't have to pay extra to fly back and forth with unnecessary bags. That in itself was a savings in money and aggravation.

But no, I probably wouldn't stay here again just because of the inconvenience of the room itself. What keeps me from saying I had a poor value is the fabulous assortment of food in the executive lounge which saved us a lot since dining out is generally very pricey in Sydney.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review following your experience at Hilton Sydney.

I appreciate your observations and opinions, which help us to monitor whether our facilities and services are meeting our guests' expectations.
Should you return to Hilton Sydney in future, you may prefer one of our 'Guest Room Plus' room-types featuring a bathroom which may be better suited to your needs, by way of a larger shower in place of a bathtub, and providing a generous amount of counter space.

Once again, thank you for your review and I hope we will have the pleasure of serving you again at Hilton Sydney in the not too distant future.

Sincerely,
Felix Busch

This hotel is in a perfect location. There was quite a bit of street noise. Loved the remote blinds. The buffet breakfast was the best we have ever had! Juliana greeted us each morning with a smile, and ensured our experience at breakfast was positive. The one negative that I must comment on is that after a long day of travel, we wanted to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. We went to the cafe in the lobby. After we sat down, we were advised that they were closing in 5 minutes, and they had no sandwiches left. They suggested we go to Glass, the fine dining restaurant. When we got there, we found that it was closed for a private event. I would suggest the hotel keep the cafe open on evenings that Glass is closed for private events. It is unreasonable to not have a restaurant available to guests at 7 pm, especially in a hotel of this size. Also, there was quite a bit of mold in the bathroom. Overall, it was a good experience.

Whilst I was very happy to see that you enjoyed your overall stay with us; we sincerely regret any inconvenience or disappointment caused as a result of the restaurant closure during the evening of your stay and have taken your constructive feedback on board.

Again, many thanks for your feedback and we all hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Hilton Sydney in the near future.

stayed here as part of my new year countdown trip to sydney. the rooms are nice and clean, but the breakfast experience is truly impressive. Nice buffet spread, with a separate order for the eggs taken and then served to the table with very nice plating. excellent location for shopping, and sightseeing.
