Being a small Christmas lunch of a family of four we decided to try a restaurant Christmas deal for the day. Overall it was a very pleasant experience despite the rain. The atmosphere was quaint in a small room which had nice historical sandstone as a main feature. The table setting was simple with a nice festive feel. Being a small area it was not over crowded or noisy therefore it had a nice intimate atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant with service delivered with a smile. The food was very nice with a choice from two entrees, main and desert. The package of 3 hrs beverages provided a reasonable choice of wines and soft drinks to select from which catered to all of our different preferences. It was a relaxing experience with appropriate timing to enjoy a family chat while waiting between courses. There was not a feeling of being rushed. The only suggestion I would make to the organisers, is to put a note on the door that the restaurant was booked for lunch to stop the people walking through the end door off the street while the patrons were enjoying their Christmas lunch. This was a bit off putting. However, over all a nice pleasant way to spend a relaxing Christmas lunch with family.
