A group of three of us went to Jamie's for the first time on Friday night and we had a great time. Initially I was apprehensive about how long we would have to queue to get a table because the queue was out the door. But this turned out to be the queue to put your name down for a table. I was probably stood there for 15 minutes, during which time a friendly waitress brought nibbles down the line and gave everyone an idea of how long a table would be based on their group size. I was pleased to discover we were able to leave a phone number rather than wait in line so we went off and had some drinks and then got phoned about an hour later to say a table was ready. So, Friday night, three people, we probably waited an hour and half for a table. The atmosphere was lively and fun and our waiter was really friendly and attentive. He was also knowledgeable about the food and the wine. The menu was fabulous and I honestly think we could have tried everything on there. The mains come in starter and main size so it does make it easy to get a few different dishes, share and try lots of things. The lamb special was just incredible - probably the best lamb I've ever had. One thing that amazed me about this place is what good value it is. We had starters, mains, dessert, coffee and wine and it came to about $60 a head. In the centre of Sydney I think that's excellent value. The one thing I'd say is that it is very busy and so can get very loud. But we had a fantastic time and are already planning to go back.
