“A taste of Ireland in the heart of Sydney”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

This place is a little gem, its simple & homely. The homemade scones are cooked throughout the day & served with cream & jam - yum. Up to 4 flavours are available at any time normally a plain, a fruit, savoury & sweet they are fantastic. Sit back & enjoy a cup of barry's on the balcony while watching the world wizz by at the Rocks market below.

“A Hidden Gem for scone lovers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

My friend brought me for a afternoon tea and we ended up in The Tea Cosy. He said it's the best scone he've had so far. I'm not really into scones so i doubted.

The interior is really cosy just like the name and it's very Irish looking! We've ordered a scone set for 2, and i ordered a pot of tea. The scone is really tasty and i must admit, i love it :)

It's not really spacious so if you have a big group, or a baby with a stroller, you might need to work your way in and move things around a bit before you can settle down. It's also kind of warm inside.

“Birthday treat for mum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

We booked this place, as the High teas were recommended, for my mums birthday trip out. Having flown over from Adelaide and walked all day it was nice to arrive at the Tea Cosy and be given a room all to ourselves. This was after we had explained too two staff about the booking.

4 of us enjoyed a great selection of teas (iced as it was so hot), scones freshly baked and a selection of jams. All agreed that the scones were pretty good quality compared to some of the fancy hotels that charge an arm and a leg for the same things. The scones were also massive and we struggled to eat them all.

The place has a higgldy piggldy kind of atmosphere behind an Irish shop the room we were in was actually upstairs and made out like a persons dining room. the Cups, saucers and teapots are all mismatched which adds to the experience.

Mum loved it and was a nice break from our day rushing around the city.

My wife kept saying she wanted to go back to this place and so I went with her this time. I'm glad i did.Its in a quiet place just by the "Bridge" We can recommend a pot of tea for two and some warm home made scones/jam/cream. Delicious. Will we be back for more? Too right we will.

“Hot scones with real double cream and jam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Go on a weekend, stroll the lovely market and then pop into this charming restaurant for delightful scones, straight from the oven. A welcome respite from a day of touring.
