We stayed here 26th Dec - 31st, couldn't stay for NYE because totally booked up:( had 5 great nights though, a stones throw from the harbour & all the main attractions. We like to live a 'champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget' (!!) so we stay cheap & do all the nice things the city has to offer - Opera bar, shopping, clubs - YHA the Rocks is so perfectly located for all of this. We had a v large disabled room, private modern bathroom. Kitchen & common room facilities were great, trusting, clean & lots of outdoor space - amazing rooftop terrace! The one let down for me was the reception staff seemed a bit like they couldn't be bothered, somewhat superior, like they were 'proper' travellers & didn't need to answer your questions..it was an effort. That was a shame. But I guess they did answer our questions - reluctantly! Overall a great stay & would recommend to anyone visiting Sydney.
