“Not 24 hours reception, no internet, location is great”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

The location is great, near circular quey or martin place, walking distance to any attractions.

The room is a little bit old, not so clean.

No internet in the building even lan or wifi, strongly not recommend!!

I have encountered there are no water for few days, no escalator for few days. The services are too slow. You may walk upstair for 1x floor every day.......

Occasionally there were no hot water

Room Tip: No internet, not 24 hours reception

Great location for this building! Very close to circular quay stationa, very clean, but not so good the staff at the reception, when we arrived there, the guy didn't even know if our room was already cleaned, he said to try to go there, if it was clean, we could stay if not try later, last day we couldn't ask to leave our luggage because nobody was there.

The whole place needs an update. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The chairs and table need a good clean and so does the lounge. No fan in bathroom. We stayed for one week and they cleaned and gave us clean sheets and towels and extra soap and toilet rolls. The view we had of the Sydney Harbor Bridge was excellent and made our New Years Eve.

This is more a motel than a hotel and is more geared towards long term renters than overnights guests / short term holiday makers.

Foyer is 2 chairs and a small desk
no gym, no restaurant / bar
Maybe 1 person on duty if you're lucky
Lifts feel like they breakdown anytime soon

1. As we waited near the entrance for our cab a couple walked past and spoke to the man behind the counter about getting more toilet paper. He said he would go and buy some for them and leave it at the front counter for when they returned....
2. When we were leaving we asked the man to call a cab for us, first suggested we just hail one (it was raining heavily outside?), we asked again and he called using his mobile. They had no phone....

Room: We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment - room was tiny, desperate need of a renovation.

If you must stay here then go the 2 bedroom deluxe apartment. This room 'almost' made you forget about everything else wrong with the place.

We had a conference just up the road at the Intercontinental, let's just say the foyer alone is worth paying a little extra for.

The location of these apartments are great (not even a 5 minute walk to Circular Quay) and they are relatively clean and comfortable, however that’s the only positive things I can say about them.
It was a drama to both check in and check out. No one was at the front desk when we showed up (even though we had advised what time we would be arriving) and we had to call the manager 3 times before he answered, and he advised he would send someone to the front desk. When someone finally did come to the front desk we left our luggage and was told our room would be ready in an hour. An hour then turned into 1.5 hours, which then turned into 2 hours. On the day we checked out we assumed that we could leave our luggage there until our flight (as is standard at most hotels), but we were told no staff would be on site after 12pm and were recommended to walk our luggage 10 minutes to the State Library to use their lockers. Throughout our 2 day stay at the hotel we rarely saw anyone at the front desk, and everytime we did have a request or ask a question, they weren’t much help anyway. I understand they are serviced apartments and not an actual hotel, but you still expect staff to be on site for at least business hours every day, but this was not the case.
Our “deluxe” room was located directly above the convenience store downstairs. This meant we heard the store closing at night and opening in the morning, we heard their phone ring, plus other general noise from the store. Our windows were also almost at street level, so we had to keep the blinds closed the whole time as people passing by could see directly into our apartment. Our apartment didn’t have the following basic items you would expect – Soap, tissues, coathangers or a water jug in the fridge. There was no exhaust fan or window in the bathroom, and the air con vents were VERY dusty.
Overall, I think if you’re familiar with Sydney and need a place to stay that is super close to Circular Quay, then Bridgeport Apartments may be suitable. But if you are a tourist and expect any helpful facilities that a regular hotel may offer (front desk assistance, directions, etc) then this definitely isn’t the place for you.

Great location, great view and a great stay. Very clean, quite large with a separate bedroom. Bathroom had a shower plus washing facilities for clothes. Simply put I could not find fault. Close to circular quay so you can get a train from the airport.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

I have just returned home from a 5 night stay in a two bedroom apartment at the AEA Bridgport. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Coffee shop just around the corner - good coffee and lovely breakfast. Our unit had everything we needed. Washing machine and dryer in one - quite small machine so took a while to do a load. Lovely decor and kitchen had plenty of plates, glasses etc. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Room tip - we had Room 910
