4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

I just stayed here this weekend. I really liked this place! The location is great. My room was perfect for me, very clean and a good size! the bed was so comfortable. the manager was friendly and was helpful when little things needed attending to!
Will definitely stay here again!!!

Room Tip: Mad pizza just around the corner is amazing!

Great location if you love eating out. Rooms small and of good design but not clean. Carpet torn and dirty, chairs stained and minor damage elsewhere in room. Mini bar not stocked as listed and items such as coffee, tea, sugar etc not replenished each day. Bathroom is okay but issues with water leaking down door track and onto carpet when having a shower. Shower curtain sits about 12" above the floor. Staff attitude and help leaves a lot to be desired. Check in staff wouldn't give us the time of day and couldn't wait to get rid of us. Barely no eye contact and everything was a hassle for her. Not all FTA channels available on TV and had to use iPad to watch the Ashes. No Foxtel either! Really Quest??!! Parking is undercover at the Holiday Inn on Victoria St about 200m away, which is okay if it's not raining. Cost of parking is a crazy $40 a night, which is the most expensive I've paid yet. In a nutshell, the worst of the Quest Apartments.

Room Tip: Check your room before accepting.

Positives:
Comfortable room and bed. Good access to shops, clubs and restaurants.
Negatives:
The staff were rude and unapproachable. The carpet in the room was wet near the bathroom (found out the hard way with wet socks) and looks like it had been like that for a while as it has pulled away from the wall due to shrinkage.
There was a dark stain on the base at the foot of the bed (I don't even want to know what it was)
Items advertised in the room mini bar were not there and when approaching the front desk the staff member was aloof and disinterested.
Parking was available but in a different hotel (The Holiday Inn) down the road which was followed by a bag drag. I am glad it wasn't raining. No parking was available out the front of the hotel.
Limited TV channel options with no Foxtel.

The Quest Apartments are located in a back street off the main road through Kings Cross, with good access to restaurants, clubs and the subway. The bedrooms are a decent size although my bathroom was fairly small but, most importantly, the bed was quite comfortable! The front desk is only manned from 7am to 11pm and no room services are available - but there are plenty of local cafes, supermarkets and bars within a 150m of the front door. The main drawback is noise - the room walls transmit some sound from your neighbours (not bad but noticeable) and there are several nightclubs near the apartments. These finished about 11:30pm when I stayed on a Wed but I suspect they would be a real negative on a Fri/Sat night (unless you were clubbing yourself!). Parking is available off-site (200m away) at a typically hefty Sydney price of $40pn. These are fairly typical Quest apartments, nothing flash but reasonable value at the right price.

Not sure what to expect when we arrived but was pleasantly surprised. Well appointed rooms, clean and well equipped. Had just been painted with enamel paint so the rooms smelt quite bad and the windows did not open. The smell did lessen over the two nights we stayed so it was not too much of a game changer. Staff were helpful and friendly. Really close to all the action. Quiet and comfortable, will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: The higher the rooms the better.

Having stayed in other Quest properties we were not expecting this dump.
The room was too small for a couple. The mirror in the kitchen was cracked
and we could hear the staff talking at 5:00 am if we left the window open.

A nightmare at best.

The only thing good about this was the location close to downtown, however the
neighborhood is "in transition, meaning seedy"
