“Convenient Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Ibis at King Street Wharf is located close to the city and Darling Harbour. It was convenient for us to access the ferries and many restaurants. Our Hotel room was recently upgraded and was spacious and kept very clean. The only downside was the very small wardrobe space. We would recommend this Hotel to our friends.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

We stayed March 2013 and our comments reflect the majority on here. We were in room 501 which not so much adjacent to the lift as surrounding it as it formed the back third of our room. I was concerned about this and spoke to the receptionist but he assured me we wouldn't be disturbed and he was correct. The rooms are very small with space for only one suitcase stand which meant our other suitcase was shifted from floor to bed as needed. Perhaps the only inconvenience for us was that there was a shower but no bath.

Wifi is available for a fee in your room and 15 minutes free per device per day in reception where there is also a PC offering free access.

Location is fantastic. 30 seconds walk to Darling Harbour and the ferry terminal. 5 minutes walk to Wynyard underground station and George Street. 20 Minutes Walk to the Rocks. 20 minutes walk to the Chinese quarter, 30 Minutes walk to the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. As we spend most of our time out of the hotel the great location far outweighed the small room.

We would certainly consider stopping at this hotel again.

The room was tiny, but I expected that based on other Trip Advisor reviews so I wasn't disappointed. However, I got into the shower and tried to turn around but the floor was so slippery that I fell out of the shower. I came away seriously bruised and with pulled muscles but no broken bones. They really need to do something about the floor of the shower. The moment it is wet it becomes a slip hazard. Being a shower, that is not really efficient. When I told the manager what happened when I checked out the next day, he was very sympathetic, but I am not sure anything will be done about that. If I had been frail, I could well have broken bones.

Room Tip: Ask them not to put you in a rom facing the M4 because their blinds are not efficient so the cars...

Location is fabulous, near Darling Harbour and within walking distance of George St, other great locations like The Rocks, Harbour Bridge however the small room was very disappointing. Minimal provision was made for coffee making etc
Service was poor in that rooms were cleaned in the afternoon to a some what suitable standard, towels were not replaced
Based on our experience I would not stay at the Ibis again and would not recommend to others

Friendly staff, great location for access to Darling Harbor, and yet walking distance to George Street. Decent amenities for the price, clean, coffee in room, quiet. Airport shuttle pick up at hotel is quite convenient. Definitely would stay there again.

Nice clean hotel, room small but suitable for short overnight stay. Staff friendly. Location was good, easy walk to Harbour and Wharf. Liked best that it was clean, bed comfortable. Liked worse - that the room was quite small.
