“The Best Tha!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

I love my Thai and im hard to please when it comes to my Thai food.
The meals here are authentic and decent servings.
This place is definately a favourite for me. Im here at least once a week ordering my favourite flat rice noodles and any work function lunch i manage i organise over here as well with no complaints from anyone. When my dad visits he also loves this place.

The food is cooked fresh, you can see it being cooked and quite quick as well. Which is great for those needing to return to work.

“Same-same but different”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

This is the former Monkey Drum restaurant at the Roxy. They moved across the road, went upmarket with a bigger kitchen, fancy furniture & brighter painted walls but it remains the exact same restaurant, same menu. The prices mysteriously increased when they made the move, same-same but different.

Watering down laksa soup on busy days isn’t cool. It became more common as the weather cooled down & demand for their laksa increased. I remember they used to regularly run out of laksa from their big pot after 2pm. All of a sudden it was available all day & never ran out. I had the audacity to ask one of their waitresses one day how come the laksa tasted different now & things were never the same between us ever again. To them I was dead.

The bill can’t be split here. Asking them to split the bill once caused the waitress to spit the dummy & shout at the top of her voice in broken English “He (the) devil!!!!” To be fair, my friend did earlier order a “Chicken pad Thai without-the-attitude please” & I couldn’t help but laugh with my friends. Always welcomed with a burning stare, the waitress remembers my face & still slams my food down rudely even after my sex change.

Pros: Casual dining, open alfresco design, has several long tables for large groups, open view kitchen, great ambience at night, modern design interior, fresh ingredients, located on busy George St,

Cons: name change, new location but same menu more expensive, no free parking around, no split bills, slow service, Thai food for office workers,

“Good food, but uncomfortable seating and noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

We've been this restaurant twice with friends for dinner on weekends; and found that the food was tasty, and the helpings quite generous.

The service was great, the food was served without delay, our wine and water glasses were topped up, and the wait staff were friendly and helpful.

However, the seating is a bit cramped, with stools or seats with no backrests. It was also quite noisy on the weekends, although it might be quieter during the week.

“Casual dining,”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

This resturant was our choice for the evening for its laid back ambience. We had 40th bday to celebrate with a mix of little kids and teens. It worked well. Chairs wernt the comfiest, meals were average but waitresses were very attentive and kind

“Great Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Would recommend this restaurant as good reasonably priced grub. We had a group of 8 and sat outside as it was a hot night. 4 of us had the banquet which was really great value for money. The others ordered off the menu and everyone enjoyed their meal.
