“Home among the 'Gum Trees'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We are regular visitors to Coffs Harbour. Long ago we decided to base ourselves here as the location has so many positives and the management team and crew make us feel welcome every-time. Centrally located its a short walk to shops eateries and Clubs. It is an easy place for the grand-kids to join us in and I love the bush trails running to Park Beach and the Harbour.
There is traffic noise here being adjacent the highway but the advantages of the locality out-way the traffic.Trees are so big in parts of the reserve that you could not imagine that you were in the middle of a major rural city. There is lots of wildlife that will come to your door like Possums, Ducks, Lorrikeets and Water Dragons.Col and Sue are perfect hosts.

Room Tip: This is an excellent spot for Camp Kitchens Backpacker and Family groups love this and the quiet Cre...

This park is divided into two parts, and as we are travelling with our dog , we were on the showgrounds side of this caravan park, and at night they locked the gate, between the two parks, so we had no access to the other side, which seems strange... we were told it was because if a dog broke loose at night it could end up on the road ! well the gate on our side it always open, so a dog could still run onto the road from our side, it didn't make sense. (We felt like second class citizens). But at the same time staff were helpful and the amenities were very clean. We probably wouldn't stay there again because of the dog issues, the gate could have just been shut NOT locked, it just felt strange having it locked.

Room Tip: Don't pick a site near the road, it's very noisy.

We stayed in a standard cabin for 1 night. Cabin was clean and adequate for our stay. We booked with Colin who was helpful and polite. Our cabin was close to thehighway and there was some noise but not enough to worry us.

We didn't get to stay at this caravan park but we were booked to stay a night on our way through to Surfers Paradise. We were phoned by a lovely lady and told us we could not get through to Coffs Harbour because of the floods and said she would cancel our booking. Thank you to the lady who rang, we really did appreciate your phone call and were very impressed that you went to the trouble to ring us. We will certainly stay at your park on our way through next time.

We have stayed at a few parks and this is the cleanest by far. The grounds are well kept and the cabins are set up very well, with everything you need for a stay.
We stayed in a family cabin ( hibiscus I think). and they are a perfect layout for separate parent/ kid space.

Will be back for sure!

Just back from spending 3 nights in one of their Deluxe Cabins ($90 per night).
Must say the cabins were presented to us in a spotless condition, kitchenette had everything you need, r/c air-con was a bonus, toilet and shower area were a decent size and with good water pressure in the shower.
There was sleeping for 4 persons..1 double and 2 bunk beds in separate rooms. The kitchenette area had a table and 4 chairs plus a 2 person sofa.
The facilities at the park were great. A covered concrete slab area for your vehicle, gas bbq's, games room, tennis court, plenty of outdoor seating just to relax if one wanted.
The only drawback we found was the noise from the Pacific Highway during the night, it was quite loud and did affect a good nights sleep, perhaps they need to look at some soundproofing across the front of the site. For that reason alone I would not return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room/site well back from the highway!

As far as caravan parks go, this is one worth staying at. I was really impressed with the manner of the young woman behind the counter when we booked in and with the facilities. The shower and toliet are kept spotless and are arounf 5 showers so your not waiting to get one. The kitchen area and games room is perfect. My partner and I camped down near the creek under the shade of a tree which was just lovely. The grounds are well kept and you will feel comfortable at this place. Well worth the stay if your passing through.
