“Great ambiance, limited menu.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

Maybe it's the school holidays - but of the expected menu (we were shown this at the Aria Hotel next door) was cut down by some 80%. Notwithstanding that, we had a nice evening through very good service, personal attention by the chef to my wife's dietary requirements, and really pleasant atmosphere to compare with great Singapore atriums. We both had fish (salmon and swordfish) which were well prepared and cooked to specification, if a little too greasy. Vegetables/ potato not so good. Wine by the glass was good, and reasonably priced.

“Unadventurous but Well Executed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We ate here on our first night staying in the Pavilion as we hadn't arrived until 7.30pm.
First, let me say that the living decor of the trim is stunning. You are actually sitting in a mini rainforest, and the result is both calming and beautiful.
The service was genuine and warm, and the wine list is quite good. Their glasses are also generously filled, which was appreciated.
The menu itself is small, and while it isn't very adventurous or exciting, it was beautifully cooked. The daily specials were definitely the more risque options. My spatchcock was still tender and juicy, well-seasoned with delicious baked zucchini. My dining partner's fish of the day (swordfish) was also excellently cooked. We shared a creme caramel for dessert, which was a much less generous portion size but still very yummy, even though the accompanying berries were frozen in the midst of berry season.
The issue here is the cost, which is excessive at around $35 for a main, but the food is good and so we forgave them for hiking up the prices for their captive audience.

“take your own soap and shampoo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

Like this place..handy to everywhere ...we had a spa unit ...and be warned the water pressure is hopeless and took over an hour to fill...also they have horrible plastic bottles that were attached to the wall....if you suffer arthritis you will find it better to go out and buy soap and shampoo...and two out of the three containers were empty....plus if you are in the spa....you have to stand up to get your soap.....so take your own ....not a big menu for dinner but breakfast was good

“Breakfast Buffet - nothing to write home about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Somewhat basic fit-out, the cooked food is average, the range of cereals isn't great, if you want a cappuccino rather than the percolated coffee, you have to pay extra. My tip - if you stay at the pavillion or the sister hotel, the Aria, and want to have breakfast here, book when you check-in or the night before and you'll pay only $19 instead of $23.

“Lovely surroundings let down by one dish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Service was prompt and attentive but food was slow in arriving. The fish of the day was tough and overcooked but all the other dishes were enjoyable. There was a large group in and we did have to book even though it was a Monday night. Convenient walking distance from our hotel the Aria.
