“Ok, but obviously in the middle of a renovation.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

Ok, however the aquarium was closed and lots of enclosures were under construction. The animals were well cared for but looked bored. I would recommend a tour as you would see a lot more.

Hi Moseshorse, thank you for your feedback. The Tours are definitely the best way to add to your Zoo experience, as you get to meet some of the animals close up and feed them!
The enclosures you mention that are under construction are all in the new, soon to be opened, expanded Zoo area next door. There are no enclosures in the current Zoo area under construction, or any off-display animal exhibits. The Aquarium display should be re-opened in time for the holidays, and in the mean time, we have free daily snake and alligator encounters for visitors.

“Enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

We visited the zoo as part of a behind the scenes tour. I have to say we saw (and fed) lots of animals in the tour, including bears, tigers and lions and I thought the guide did a good job. The zoo is looking a bit tired but the good news is there is enormous renovations on, including development of an open range zoo. I'm looking forward to visiting again and seeing the change next time! It was also nice to see how many animals were rescues, which I really value.

“W.O.W Tour: an amazing day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

I did the tour with my husband and we were lucky and we were the only ones on that day (max. number is 4 people). It was one of the best days of our lives!!!! :-) Our tour guide, Daniel, was great and explained us many curious facts of the zoo itself and of the animals that we saw. We fed and pat a lot of animals like giraffe, red pandas, sharks, little monkeys, wombat, kangaroos, fed others like bears, lions, tigers, monkeys and pat also the cheetah (one of the best!), among others.
It is good the see that the animals have clean and big spaces to live instead of small cages. We could see that they were properly taken care and fed and that the zoo keepers really love the animals and their job.
The whole day was a wonderful experience, which we will never forget, and the time during that day just flied!
It is true that the tour is not cheap, but it is an experience of a lifetime! If you can afford it and you do like animals, do not hesitate in doing it.
They are expanding the zoo, remodellling the aquarium (although closed, we could still feed and pat the sharks and hold a snake) and also building some bedrooms in which people can stay overnight and see some animals like lions or beard through a glass wall. It is going to be another great experience! If or when I'll come back to Australia, I'll try to visit the zoo again!
Thank you Daniel for the awsome day!!!! Clara and Helder

“Definitely Worth The Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

At the time of my visit, the aquarium was closed due to renovations. However, the zoo itself was very well-kept and enjoyable. Although it is fairly small, there is still a large range of animal enclosures to visit with great viewing points. The staff there are happy to let you interact and pat some of the animals under their supervision, such as the dingoes and the wombat, which was a lovely experience. Like most zoos, information posts were on display in front of each enclosure with information about the particular animal, which are also worth the read. This was definitely a fun and enjoyable experience!

“Small for Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We were done with this Zoo in 90 minutes and my daughter usually like to stay few minutes with each Animal. Zoo was quite small for its admission price

Hi hbarif, thank you for feedback. as a privately owned Zoo we do not get any funding from the Government to subsidise our entry costs, as many other zoos do. we recommend around 2 hours to see the Zoo. Our new Aquarium exhibit has just opened and we are expanding soon - the new area will increase the Zoo to more than double its current size.
