“Well-located, clean, warm and affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for 3 nights over Floriade. Apartment was clean, warm and everything worked. Nearest shopping centre a mere 5 minutes drive, probably a 15 minute walk. Excellent base for all the Canberra has to offer. Staff friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.

Our stay was very pleasant as the rooms were large and clean. The bed was very comfy and the bathrooms were very clean indeed. Only downside is the availability of good food for room service. All other amenities worked well and there were no issues. Location was very close to restaurants and the main centre which is only walkable distance. There is also a park nearby where you could spend your afternoons. This place also had secure basement parking accessible only by a key card. All in all, I would definitely come back and stay here again when I'm visiting in Canberra

Room Tip: Higher floors seem to be quieter (Lvl 2)

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night, we had a 1 bedroom apartment. There was a microwave, a big fridge, dishwasher, cutlery, plates and 2 hot plates etc.
The bed room was separate to the lounge dining area and there was a sliding door with an outdoor table setting on a little balcony with stairs leading down to the grass.
The bathroom has a front loader washing machine in with the toilet and shower.
There are 2 TVs one in bedroom and in the lounge dining area and there is a 2 seater lounge.
The room was nice and quiet, the apartments are off on a side road, it's about a 10 min walk to the Dickson shopping area, there is a bus that does go past the apartments on Antil street and reception do have copies of timetables. My partner an I would definately go back and highly recommend staying here.
My partner enjoyed staying here more than staying at The Quality Hotel in Dickson.
The reception do have some frozen meals to microwave and there is also a menu to have takeaway delivered.
There is an indoor pool but we didn't get a chance to try it.

Our apartment had plenty of room, with a good sized bedroom and large lounge. A washing machine was a great bonus. Staff were very helpful and friendly - when our air con didn't work to heat the room, the staff brought a plug in heater for us within minutes which did the job nicely. Room also had a nice patio although the weather wasn't good enough to take advantage. The room was lovely and quiet with no outside noise to disturb us. A short walk to the bus stop which is ten minutes into the city centre. A great collection of shops and restaurants in Dickson, a ten minute walk away.

I stayed here overnight for a work trip. I was happy with the amenities and happy with the spacious room. Staff helpful and friendly.

For me it was in a good location; close to work and shops. I didnt think the room was too dated as other reviews have suggested. I certainly didnt walk in and think the place was old.

I will definitely stay here again and would recommend.

Last time we were in Canberra we stayed in a hotel on Northbourne Avenue. Never again! The Parklands Apartments are about a km from Northbourne Ave in a cul-de-sac. The location is perfect for being quiet and being able to sleep. An added bonus is the car park is underneath so you don't hear cars starting up early in the morning. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen adequate for a few nights stay. In fact the apartment is well appointed with all one would need. The reception staff are welcoming. The cleanliness is immaculate. We will stay at this place again.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

I stayed at the Dickson Parklands as part of a group booking while visiting Canberra for a conference. The location of the hotel suited us because it was close to Australian Catholic University where the conference was located. The Dickson shops are a 10 minute walk and there is a wide range of cafes and restaurants available. If I was on holidays in canberra I would not recommend the location of this hotel.

I had a first floor room and it was comfortable if not a bit dated. The bed was great and the shower hot and strong. The location is quiet and the hot breakfast (which is only available weekdays) was adequate. My colleagues had rooms on the ground floor and most of their rooms smelled of mildew.

The reception staff had little knowledge of Canberra tourist sites and could not answer any of our questions other than direct us to the wall of brochures.

All in all, a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Go for a first floor room.
