“magnificiant abode of Australian democracy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

My long wait to see this splendid bilding was soon over last week of July. Its famous trade mark the Australian flad mounted on a beutifull metal scaffolding is just fantastic and can be seen from most of the areas and subarbs of the city of Canberra.Money and mind has grouped so well to design and build this s mammoth structure which sometimes remind me of those Roman pillors in their masterpiece architecture. It is a vast green campus with a circular water body with a two story elevation which looks just fantastic. The main hall is is again majestic with its marble, granite, metal and wood brought from all corners of the world. The upper gallery is really a walk down memory lane with portraits of the greats,a senate member photo search and of course the original magna carta stored in glass house. The various halls and the main parliament house are really thing to be seen and appeiciated. Some of the democracy quotations are beautifully portraid.I feel that most of the world democracies which can afford should sent their senators and high officials concerned to visit and see this place and know what money and mind put rightly can do.
Hats off to Australia

“Surprised, what a wonderful building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

I never knew there was so much to learn about Parliament House, so make sure you book a free tour, they run at 10am, 1pm and 3pm. We had a wonderful and friendly guide and there was plenty of time to ask questions and take photo's. The space is inspiring and surprising, there was even a post office there!

“Well worth the visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

It was great to be able to go inside and see where parliament takes place. The design of the building, works of art on display and history of our nation are all worth learning about.

“A national icon: Australia's Parliament House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Every time I look at the home of Australia's Parliament I see a building that every Australian should identify with. It is a wonderful building built for the people. Architecturally magnificent, it contains heaps of symbolism relevant to all Australians. As the centre of Australian democracy the building also has attractions for the international visitor. During sitting weeks one can actually see in person the debates in both the Senate and House of Representatives Chambers or visit a committee meeting. All the historic and working aspects of the building are explained in easy-to-read pamphlets or by the friendly parliamentary guides in constant attention. It is a must see for both Australians and visitors to this wonderful country.
